Collecting my e type 2+2 project tomorrow
#1 Collecting my e type 2+2 project tomorrow
Hi all I am a new owner
I am very excited I collect my 2+2 tomorrow, it's a full restoration project I know it's not the original colour ( as confirmed by the heritage trust but they wouldn't tell me the original colour as I can not prove I am the owner yet ) i am looking forward to making a start as it isn't quite as good as it looks on the photos. I hope you will all be patient with me as I am sure I will be asking lots of silly questions but I will try to find the answer on here before I bother anyone thanks in advance Scott

Hi Scott, welcome to the forum. What a great day, picking up an E type. Many congratulations, please keep us posted and maybe think about running a blog on the restoration or recommissioning. It looks pretty good to me.

You probably have it now, but you can put your numbers in here and you might find what you are looking for without having to prove ownership.

Thank you all and Andrew for the link but unfortunately the site knew it was a 1969 2+2 but not much more
So I collected it this afternoon and after a bit of investigation I am pretty sure it's original colour was primrose yellow, I have put it away for the moment as I know I have a lot on until next month when I can finally get stuck in so for the mean time I will just be reading manuals and applying for the heritage certificate! Roll on September, I carnt wait

Lovely looking car.
Very exciting picking up an e.
When I got mine I spend most of the time just sitting in it admiring the view from the drivers seat.
If you are going to be putting the steering wheel back onto the correct side, there is lots of excellent info here. It's not that hard to do and if you are in the UK all the parts are readily accessible.

How exciting for you. A very special experience and I am sure the thrill of owning an e will never disappear. Along with others, I look forward to seeing how you get on. This is without doubt a brilliant Forum. Everyone is friendly, some good banter, and no shortage of help. Enjoy your car!
