Bulb replacement help

Hi all

I've been trying to work out why my brake and reverse lights aren't working and found that the reverse light bulb had blown. I also need a few new bulbs so can someone please tell me what bulbs I need for the following

- Reverse lamp light bulb - (12v 21W - correct?)
- Rear brake light bulbs - ?
- Interior roof light bulb - ?
- Dash light bulb, think this is the map light (12v, 4w - correct?)

Finally my brake lights aren't working so I want to replace the bulbs in the first instance to see if that will rectify the issue. Can someone tell me how do you replace the bulbs? Do you need to remove the lenses first and then completely remove the light from the body to access the bulb?

Any help would be much appreciated

Reverse light. 12 volt 21 watt. Small bayonet cap SBC. Lucas no 382
Indicator lamps. Same as reverse.
Rear/brake. 21/5 watt. Small bayonet cap. Off set pins Lucas no 380
Interior roof light. 5 watt miniature bayonet cap MBC. There are two of them. Lucas no 989
Front side lights...same
The map light is the same or you can fit the slightly smaller 4 watt version.
Number plate lamps. 5 watt SBC. Lucas no 207.
Pilot bulbs and most gauge illumination. 2.2 watt Miniature Edison screw. Lucas no 987
Switch indicator strip. 1.2 watt or 2 watt miniature push in. Lucas 281

Readily available from most motor factors.

Rear light bulbs are easily replace. remove the lens by releasing the two screws. The bulbs can hopefully be removed by a gentle press and twist. Clean the reflectors and put a quick puff of WD40 before popping in the new bulbs. Reverse light is similar as are the front side/indicators.

The interior and map are easy. Really the only tricky ones are some of the pilot and gauge illumination and the head light bulbs...

It is very unlikely that both brake bulbs have suddenly died so I'd be investigating the fuses and the hydraulic switches too...

Thanks, got the lenses off thanks. Brake light bulbs seem to coming on when lights/sidelights switched on but nothing is happening when I am depressing the pedal.

A pleasure....sounds to me like the hydraulic brake switch is probably dead. It is on the off side of the picture frame in the front brake circuit. Two wires. One should be live with the ignition...it is green. The other goes back to the brake lights and should go live when the pedal is pressed.

The current reproduction parts are CRAP...usually sold under the intermotor brand....best to replace. The switch can be unscrewed from the three way pipe union without needing to drain the brake fluid. Have the new one and a rag to hand for a quick change. Job done. SNGB are now offering their own design replacement which seems to be better

Just to add to Julian's advice - to check the hydraulic switch, remove the two wires and connect them together with the ignition on . If the brake lights now light, then it is the hydraulic switch at fault. If they still do not light , then you need to check the circuit further
