#1 Picture of aluminium trim panel below back door

Post by paulsco » Mon Dec 11, 2017 9:39 pm

Hi,

Does anybody have a picture of the aluminium trim panel that sits below the back door aperture BD20167 on the Series one FHC and possibly the length and height measurements if possible?

None of the usuals appear to supply this trim panel and I would like to make one if at all possible.

Many Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul...on my 69 S2+2 it was a very thin flimsy piece of alloy....cant find a photo but you can see the shape on John Skinners site......unfortunatly for your model it dosnt show it but call them they may supply one http://www.john-skinner.co.uk/jaguar/e- ... 2ltr/#trim Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the link. the Series One one, appears to have even less shape than the Series two

http://www.john-skinner.co.uk/jaguar/e- ... 2ltr/#trim

(5th picture down on the right)

I think half of its height is the vinyl cover.

I would really prefer to make one rather than buy one already covered, if at all possible.

Hello Paul

Found the piece...it’s not a simple rectangle...send me your address and I will trace around it and post you a full size template...it also has to have rivets to hold it in place and an oversize section of vinyl

Regards

Hi Jonathan,

That's very kind of you; I will PM my address.

Yes; according to the parts manual it has 8 rivets; I can only find 6 holes for it though??

Thank You,

Paul

I am restoring a 62 E Type FHC and would much appreciate the picture/template dimensions for this panel
