#1 Glue for the support rails seals

Post by MLBS3V12 » Sun Mar 11, 2018 9:11 am

Hi all,
I'm going to place back the seals support rails all arround the openings of the car, front doors and quarter lights.
When I've removed them there was a sort of glue Under them.
Who knows which glue has to be used to fit them back ?
Thank you for your feedback
Michel

Don't think there should be any glue there. The seal retainers on mine were all held in place with pop rivets.

I believe what you have found is seam sealer which is also what I used on mine. I thin bead of seam sealer and then pop rivets to fasten the rails.

Cheers ..... Ole

It has been noted befor that if the retainers are not sealed water can get through then the blame is put on the rubber seals.....so yes seam sealer or the like should be used... Steve
