Heater blade Series 3
#1 Heater blade Series 3
Hi,
when i bought my Series 3 1972 the heater Fan/ box was missing. I have managed to find (from SNG) the heater box, motor and resistor but it looks like the blade is no more built.
Limora offers its and i have actualy ordered the part for 2 months but they said that they struggle to find a supplier. My order is still open but my level of hope is decreasing day on day.
My questions:
-Do you know where i could source it from?
-Is a blade from series 1 or 2 even if known as less efficient tahn the series can be fitted ? (Size and motor output diameter)
-Does a blade from other brand, model can be adapted to be fitted?
Many thanks in advance for your support.

There is a well documented conversion to upgrade heater fan output by using a Pontiac Fiero fan and motor although I'm not sure whether it is suitable for a series 3. This is what I have bought for my Series 1.

Hi,
I bought all the Fiero parts to modify my Series 3 but I have not carried out the mod because the fan/squirrel cage is not deep enough. I have some ideas to modify further but I have not tried them yet because I am reluctant to modify the snail casing (the fan case) for the Fiero motor. I also heard that the fan from a Toyota Cami/Daihatsu Terios will fit, I can look for the details if needed. However, I did get a fan from SNG for the original motor, so I am surprised it is no longer available.
Regards,
Simon

initially i have ordered the full kit from SNG (Cage, motor, Blade and resistor) but after a while they called me to inform that they could not get the balde anylonger. I fear that Limora will get back to me soon with the same answer.
Do you think that i should go for the Daihatsu/ Toyota one?
Thansk again.

HI,
bad news !!!! What Limora sent me was an order cancelled few week ago (air vents).... this was not the balde i was looking for.
I guess i'll cancel the order and go for an alternative solution as suggested.
Thanks to all for your help.
I'll keep you posted.

Simon,
i ordered this ref on ebay. 30 euros and i have the spare engine.
MOT101 AC Heater Blower Motor for Daihatsu, Toyota Terios Nomada
Almost a perfect fit - i have just slightly adjusted the central hole to fit to the motor axle.
I have no reference but it looks like the air flow is really good.
i'm getting close to the end of my restoration ;-)
thanks again;
Jérôme
