Hi
Opinions please as to what type of paint to use on my series 2 restoration, i assume the original was cellulose but very difficult to have done now. The options seem to be two pack or base and top coat of lacquer. Has anyone experience of two pack fading after a few years.

Hi,
The usual options are a 2k solid colour or clear over base, which is also a 2k paint system.
The problem with the solid colours (no clear coat) is that there is a tenancy to fade and in my case I had some problems with bleach spots when rain droplets were left on the surface when the sun came out.
If yours is a metallic colour then clear over base is the only way to go.
Cellulose paints are too soft to last in my opinion.
