#1 Anyone tested this Wind Deflector from E-bay?

Post by Pex » Tue May 15, 2018 9:13 am

My wife is complaining so I need to do something about it...
Has anyone bought and installed this Wind Deflector from Ebay?
Or is there any better that I can buy somewhere to my S2 -69?

Does Dave Kerr of the forum still make them? Very highly recommended by those who have bought/used them

I have one on my S3 OTS that came from Classic Additions but it looks identical. Very happy with it, makes a big difference to the comfort with the roof down, especially in cooler weather.

I brought one that looks very similar at one of the major shows cant remember who, but they did covers as well, which was the reason to visit the stand.

I found that it does make a difference but the fitment was not 100%. It fitted to the hard top mounting bolts, which are tapered therefore did not hold the item in place so had to buy new bolts and washers. I then found that the windbreak restricted the movement of the seats quite a bit for no other reason than the brackets were straight, if they had been designed better to set the windbreak further back the seat movement could of been larger, not 100% the same as no windbreak.

If I get the chance I was going to look creating my own brackets as the windbreak itself is fine and should be able to set it further back with a minor adjustment.

Would be interested in feed back of any windbreaks that work on series 3 as other half does find the wind a bit of a problem and looking for a good solution to keep her happy.

Got the wind deflector which regarding to the seller should fit my S2 whiteout any problem... it didn’t!
I had to fabricate some brackets to move the construction backwards, not a big issue but it’s good to know if anyone else is planning to buy one. I Will paint the brackets black when I tested it.
This is how it looks on the car and what the bracket looks like, the U-shaped Black bracket came with the kit.
