#1 Does anyone make parts to add seatbelts to a '61 OTS

I know, I'm a sissy!

But I think that adding seatbelts to my car would improve safety without detracting from the nature of the car. I know latter S1s have seatbelts but I don't think that my '61 OTS has the strengthened mounting points to attach seatbelts to. But once again I'm not really sure about this. Does anyone make the components to add a seatbelt to a pre-seatbelt e-type? Will I need to have hardened mounting points bolted in? Anyone got any ideas or advice (apart from to grow a pair and not to bother with the seatbelts!)

Quickfit who advertise in the back of the club mag make seat belts to original factory spec which look great. they will also fit them correctly and strengthen the mounting points.

Their not cheap, but they are the best and after all if you are going to fit seats for safety they need to work.

I have Quickfit seatbelts and the company are a delight to work with. They even offered to put cast leapers on the seat belt buckles (same leaper as on the 3.8 ashtray actually) which is a nice touch.

Great! I'm not planning on crashing her, but I 'd like to know that I might live if I do. And yes, I've started referring to my car as 'her'! Its love!

Just joined this site and saw a couple of posts relating to seat belts and Quickfit SBS. I found them hopeless to be honest they had my hardware for 6 weeks did nothing and then said they never even received them. I spoke to different people everytime some who could hardly speak English so I had them returned and sent them to FDTS ltd in Byfleet who were execellent and supplied the correct webbing. I supplied all the hardware and it cost ?65+ VAT to have them made in Grey. Very quick delivery as well.
Friends who have used them also said they were pleased with their work.

My car is also a '61 and didn't have the supports fitted for the shoulder harnesses however I took the measurements from a later car and made my own. If anyone wants the drawings please let me know and I'll send them.

Second that regarding FDTS - they even provided FOC a couple of buckles that were missing.

My S1 is fairly early, '63 and has the seatbelt mounts but the upper fixing point is fairly low down. Problem with this is in the event of a crash the belt will pull the occupant down as well as restricting forward movement - this compresses the spine - not good! If adding fixing points I would copy those from a later car which I think were higher.
