Re: Electric power steering

Hi, very interesting points about power steering. I'm also considering the conversion. At some point, my car's steering system was converted from Series 1 to Series 2. For originality reasons, I want to revert to Series 1. Is that possible? Does anyone know?

Re: Covered Headlight Conversion S1.25

Hi Keith, thank you so much for the feedback. I'll do it that way then, even though the flanges on the original Series 1 hood are painted in the car's color... Fitting the bottle is a bit fiddly though. Did you leave the edges where the bottle is attached to the hood protruding by 5 mm each? :questi...

Re: Covered Headlight Conversion S1.25

Hello and a big thank you to Eddie and Keith for the great posts. I'm currently working on the conversion, and the descriptions and especially the photos are a huge help. One question I have: You painted the MM flanges black. Why not the same color as the car? Cheers, Klaus

Re: Ignition light flickering - CURED

Good morning, very interesting thread I came across while searching for solutions to my flickering ignition control light. I still have the original alternator and the 3AW. My ignition control light flickers almost constantly, but goes out as soon as I turn on a consumer, such as the fan or the ligh...

Re: Center console assembly tips

Hi, I'm reading this with interest as I also have to rebuild my console. How and where exactly is the rubber strip for the handbrake lever attached? Is it glued under the upper part of the console or under the lower part?
Thanks in advance for the information.

Re: Wrong window regulator series 3 2+2 ???

Hello and thank you for the very informative contributions. One topic concerns me, as I want to replace the window regulator mechanism on my S1 Coupé soon. Re: S1 2+2 A pillar chrome: installation ?

Hello Carsten,
I fitted my chrome panelling yesterday. The parts were glued as part of the restoration a few years ago and I reattached them with body adhesive. I didn't manage to get the sealing rubber over the chrome parts.
Kind regards, Klaus

Re: Chrome trim interior

Hi, sounds interesting. But isn't the part too short?

and on this occasion: Can you tell me what kind of chrome knob that is in the area of the lower window (see picture)?

Chrome trim interior

Hello everyone,
The chrome trim around the window panelling is missing on both sides of the interior of my 1965 FHC. Are these chrome strips still available somewhere? Do you have any ideas for an alternative?
Thanks in advance, Klaus

Best Rear Hatch/Tailgate Sealing rubber Series 1

Hi, I have not yet found a perfect rear hatch/tailgate sealing rubber. Is there any experience here? Where can you get the seal that seals best but is not too thick?
Thanks, Klaus

Re: Hinge Pillar and Door Frame Seal Directions

Hi, I'm currently facing a similar issue. Have you now fitted the seals as in no. 2 on your drawing? Do you have a picture of the top edge of the door and the window seal at the top?
Thanks, Klaus
