I contacted Kate on the 19th June (well I tried to) No reply to my e-mail.

I'm in a simular situation my 3.8 engine (R8852-9) was removed in 1978 and replaced with a 4.2 series 1.5 engine (7E 11929-9) If I could locate my original engine I would be interested in returning my 4.2 engine back to the correct car.

Ah that make sence now. Car is genuine, I've found traces of the original OSB paint and the car still has a few early features, boot prop rather than the sissor type & early grab handle on the dash.
