Re: New Member - (nearly)
Hi Simon, It seems we have identical taste! I only moved on from my Europa due to garage space. I've got a double garage but one a workshop full of lathes, millers and drills...the other is for the E Type. The E Type was my must have car, and it took until I was 61 to get it. However, two cars I wis...

Hello again Steve,
Thanks.
I have to say that there’s a mine of information, from which I’ve already gleaned much knowledge. It’s certainly one of the better car forums.

There appears to be two camps….the believers of the phenomenon of self tightening, and the non believer. Your signatu...

Re: Wheel: what Tightening torque
As I said Steve, there will those who believe it and those who don’t. But it also does not state how many joules of energy are required to “tighten” the spinner….just some vague description….”tighten the hub fully”, whatever that means without some unit of measure. But as I’ve stated previously…..my...

Re: Wheel: what Tightening torque
Followed on from another thread……. https://forum.etypeuk.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14292&start=20 And yet David, I can confirm that after “tightening” the spinners, both with the wheels in the air initially, followed by further taps with the wheels on the ground, the action of driving did indeed tigh...
