Re: help advice please
Hi Geoff, I completely agree that inspecting the car in person is key to understanding its condition and authenticity. The XKData website is a great resource for checking chassis numbers and gathering more information on the cars. On a related note, I’ll be heading to Spain soon and plan to visit so...

Re: Cooling fan options
Curious to know what solution you ended up going with in the end? Back then, I was preparing for a similar long-distance trip through France https://gowithguide.com/France and I opted for the Revotec kit from SNGB. Took a bit of fiddling to get everything aligned, and the wiring needed some patience...

Re: Engine acid dipping
I’ve been looking into engine cleaning options myself and hadn’t thought to search the forum using “acid” as a keyword. Good call on checking related topics, too; there’s a lot buried in old threads. Appreciate the direction!

Good to know you followed the correct torque spec too. It’s helpful hearing about other people’s experiences with these components, especially since they’re so critical for IRS mounting.

Re: Posting photos with Imgur
Thanks for putting this together, Gfhug. The step-by-step info is really helpful, especially for anyone not familiar with how forum image posting works. I’ve tried both Imgur and Postimage before, and the ability to enlarge images directly in the post is definitely a plus with Imgur. Good point, too...

Re: New Member - (nearly)
Had a chuckle at the Boston tribute reference, great photo! That JPS Europa sounds like a brilliant project if you manage to land it. I've always thought they had such a purposeful stance, and the black-and-gold livery is hard to beat. Seems like quite a few Europa fans around here, which is great t...

Re: Happy Christmas
Happy Christmas everyone! It's hard to believe it's already December 2024 - another Christmas to celebrate as we all grow a little older but hopefully wiser and always grateful for every moment. This year, I'm in France with my wife, celebrating Christmas in such a romantic setting. We're excited fo...

I would love to see more pics of that pre-WW1 Renault too. Sounds like this guy's garage is a treasure trove of automotive history!

Re: Fuel tank, repair
If the rust is from external moisture and the tank's basically compromised, a new tank is probably your safest bet. Those pin holes suggest more damage might be developing.

Great to see another enthusiast! Chain tensioner issues can be a right pain on these classics. Good call on taking your time with the work and not rushing. Winter storage/maintenance is an art form with these beauties.
