1965 FHC Torsion Bars
Hi All, The subject of torsion bars seems to be a bit of a common one, but despite reading many related questions, and answers, mine is a bit different. So I have not replaced any torsion bars or components, however they were cleaned up and re-plated. They all went back together fine. I made the too...

Choke cable placement
Hi All, I've been scratching my head quite a bit recently about the correct route of the choke cable on 1965 FHC. So I correctly located the right hole where it goes through the bulkhead. But how it gets from the dash control to that hole seems a bit of a compromise. I found this picture from an old...

Re: 1965 FHC windscreen chrome strip
Windscreen in last is probably good advice. Although I needed windscreen in before I put the engine in, as I'm on my own and standing in the engine bay, to put the screen in, makes life a lot easier. Most of the dash is back in place, and anything mounted on and through the bulkhead.

1965 FHC windscreen chrome strip
Hi All, Hopefully my last question on the windscreen. First i'm a bit surprised now the windscreen seal locking strip is in place, how easy the chrome strips went in. The down side of this is the ends of the chrome strip pop out a little at the ends. Is it normal to use any adhesive on these ends, o...

Re: FHC Rear Door
I do have the original hatch, and hinges. No repairs were needed to the hatch, so it should go back together and fit ok. I did a quick trial hatch fit, and it didn't look good. I did read a post that mentioned that there is a top hinge and a bottom hinge, so that might be a possible reason for the p...

FHC Rear Door
Hi All, There are two hinge fixing plates on the rear door, each with four bolts. The lower one on my car moves quite freely giving some door position adjustment. The upper one appears to be very limited in its movement. You cant get behind it to see what the problem is, the only access is the front...

Re: 1965 FHC Windscreen fitting (SWB)
Hi All, In reply to the rubbers age, it would have to be at least 4 years old. That said, i'm not questioning how pliable it is. The image I uploaded should be sufficient hi resolution to zoom in. You can see how tight the rubber is, as the flap sitting on the glass is not sitting flat on the glass,...

Re: 1965 FHC Windscreen fitting (SWB)
Thank you Simon, Anybody else think the rubber being this tight is normal?
I have read that new windscreens vary in size and thickness, and was a bit worried the new rubbers might take that into account, hence fitting an older screen that bit more difficult?

1965 FHC Windscreen fitting (SWB)
Hi All, I know its a fairly well discussed topic, but was after a few learned opinions. I'm in the process of re-assembling my car and decided to have a go putting the windscreen in on my own. I've had two attempts, both resulted in the windscreen going in, but both times the whole thing ended up ve...

Thank you Richard, I'll go for gold then!
P.S. The Tan trim, don't suppose you kept any of the original tan vinyl?

1965 e-type Golden sand
Hi All, So having reversed the colour change of my e-type from red, back to original golden sand I duely sent off the V5C to DVLA notifying them of the colour change to Golden Sand. The relpy I got back rejected that as a colour, and included a sheet of 'basic colours' to choose between. So to the U...
