Thanks for the info, the Car Number was 1E51165. It falls in the range but registration date shows 1968, manuf seemed to have been 1967.

Anyhow, I loved the car and I'm now the new owner.

Hi, I'm new to this E-Type following and are looking to purchase a 1968, there is no headlight covers but it still has toggle switches, so maybe a 1.25. My problem is to validate the serial numbers. The BODY number on the plate is 4E54185 and the ENGINE number 7E54182-8. I cannot locate any referenc...
