And here is the mini 'road test' :) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/motoringvideo/10424729/Eagle-Low-Drag-GT-review.html As with the speedster, it's a 'yes, but' kind of car for me. You have to admire the craftsmanship though. However, hate the steering wheel; how un-E type- like for the main dr...

slave cylinder
I fitted the hydrostatic version. The key to setting the correct length of actuating rod is that there should be 19mm (3/4 inch) between the actuating rod when fully depressed into the slave cylinder, and the clutch operating lever when pushed fully back (holes centres measurement). Hope this helps.

Clutch slave cylinder type
I'm replacing my leaky clutch slave cylinder. The correct type for my 1966 FHC is the self adjusting (hydrostatic) one, (fitted from unit 7E 4606 to 7E 18356) However, as ever, nothing is simple. From unit 7E 18357 on, Jaguar reverted to the original 80mm cylinder with the external return spring; wa...

Monte Carlo E-Type
Great photos, Phil ( as ever 8) ) Re the 1962 E-Type entry: at that time the Monte had Glasgow as a starting point. One of my earliest memories of seeing an E was this OSB car in Blytheswood Square on that still, frosty January evening. The driver's door was open, and I recall thinking, as I stood b...

Jaglovers
I discovered this Forum and Jaglovers about the same time and follow both regularly; the only difference is, I never post on Jaglovers. I find the day by day posts there easy to filter; I often use the searches for particular issues, and while it may be a bit 'passe' with regard to presentation, you...

Hi, Eric. I see you've had no luck with your query - and as a Series 1 person I cannot help directly. One or two suggestions that might get you the info. however. If you have any of the 'standard' books like Porter's 'Original E-type' you can pick up photos there (eg p.75 in this book); If you load ...

Thanks, David - sorry about the bum steer re the rev counter code, Peder  - but you could always check your speedo! I didn't have an Allen Key for the bolts handy, so I used a small 's' shaped screwdriver which fitted snugly. I should have said there is a 'u' shaped washer which is loca...

Hi, pmanson (it would be nice to have your name, by the way). It's not clear how you know the rev counter is over- showing on revs but in any case the generator itself is not difficult to remove/replace - I recently had to remove and readjust mine when the rev counter 'failed'. It is held on with th...
