Yes, Ash kindly gave me my copy at Stanbrook Abbey on Saturday morning - start of the Etype Club run.
It now sits very usefully on my garage wall!!

Re: Wiring Harness
To clarify, this is the original harness - and these are original wires (some others have been replaced). The engine came out at the start of COVID (a clutch change project) and some of my labelling has either fallen off or become unreadable in that time.

Wiring Harness
I've laid out my harness aapproxiately where it goes and uisng a mixture of my own labels, photos, a multimeter aand various diagrams I've generally managed to match up and test connections. I've a couple of problems - and hope I'm missing the blindingly obviously!! Following that part of the loom t...

Re: SII - Starter Motor Terminal
No, the thred is all looking weak. I think my only options are extraacing the stud, or putting on a slightly smaller thread.

SII - Choke Cable
3rd and last query tonight!! Yes, it's been a frustrating day in the garage!! Refitting the choke cable to the connecting rods the 'securing pin' at the end of the cable broke!! Looking at a couple of spares sites, the pin that I took off (and broke) doesn't appear genuine? It was a small nut/bolt w...

SII - Harness Routing
2nd Query of the Night!! And yes, I should have taken even more photograhs!! Putting the harness back in place in the engine bay, my photos for the picture frame and and driverside are not clear!! When I released the harness from the engine/picture frame, it was generally routed together into two pa...

SII - Starter Motor Terminal
Replacing and reconnecting the starter motor, I've stripped the thread on the terminal (on its solenoid) that takes power from my battery. Does anyone know if I will be able to dismantle the solenoid and replace this stud - or what ever it is? Mine is a 1970 SII and on the starter motor is number LR...

SII - Front Suspension
Having replaced the engine, I have now reassembled and tightened up the front supension - no wheels on yet. The suspension is very tight i.e. jacking up the wheel hub lifts the frame, rather than wishbone. I certainly wasn't expecting this!! Have I gone wrong, and if so, does anyone have any idea of ...

Re: SII - Engine Levelling when refitting engine
Thanks for all your input!! I did replace the mounting blocks (although the old ones looked reasonable), and there were no shims fitted. I managed to straighten the engine by dropping a strap down from the crane, underneath the sump and attaching it to the mount (on the other side). Lifting the cran...

SII - Engine Levelling when refitting engine
I have refitted and loosely connected the engine mounts and the bulkhead mount - and I'm just about to wrestle with the 'underneath' gearbox mount. At the moment the engine looks slightly lopsided - pointing at a few minutes past 12, looking from the front. This confirmed by inspection of the mounts...

SII - Clutch Alignment Tool
Clearly, I need a clutch alignment tool to fit my new clutch!! There seems to be 4 options - there are probably more!! 1. Buy a £10 generic tool, locally from a general parts dealer 2. Buy a specific 'looking' tool from say Moss - for about the same price with postage 3. Make a DIY tool using a rod ...

Re: Flywheel Bolts and Crank Spigot
Thanks again for the comments, advice and humour!! For those interested, I employed the wet tissue extraction approach - with some considerable scepticism!! I was flabbergasted when with lightish taps of a hefty lump hammer, the spigot moved!! I needed to reload the tissue when the spigot was halfwa...

Flywheel Bolts and Crank Spigot
As a natural follow-on to my previous query on choice of replacement clutch ... I took off the flywheel yesterday to get it skimmed - and I've a couple of queries 1. I presume it's good practice to replace the 10 flywheel bolts? I remember being told that these can stretch - or it that a spurious Ol...

Clutch Kit Assembly
I've just been looking at 9.5" Clutch kits for my SII etype OTS. There seem to be two on offer at places like SNGB, Martn R and Manners - Borg & Beck and PowerTune. I've heard of B&B, but not Powertune! (that are cheaper!) Has anyone have any experience of Powertune clutches, or even better, able to...
