S2 OTS boot

I have a strange problem, boot sometimes flys open for no reason. Its down normally and OK, but periodically flys open. Only thing I can put it do is perhaps some body flex after running over bad roads / potholes. It shuts fine, seems to be adjusted OK, just cant see anything obvious. Thoughts please?

timin

I read somewhere recently about someone bolting another timing mark on and pulley from an XJ6 which was timed from the top on the near side somewhere - might have been in the practical classics etype restoration book if not mistaken

where to use a trolley jack

before I do expensive damage to my nice car and very straight good condition front frames, where does anyone recommend using a trolley jack at the front end / axle stands ?

Fairly straight forward at the back end.

trailing links

have come off easily now with a bit of heat from Mr. oxy/acetylene gas axe and they flew off without damage to the rubber / arm - fantastic.

yep, thought of that one, but cant get my hand far enough through to get hold of the bottom of the washer jet. Will have to look at taking part of dash out I think.
