Re: Noise from the front of the engine
Hello again, checked the belt and it's full of small cracks, no visible wire nor fray, however it's feels like it is starting to fall apart. Alternator, water pump, tensioner all feels good, will have to pay close attention to any noice or vibration in the future. It's obvious that it had something ...

Re: Noise from the front of the engine
Hi again, removed the belt and ran the engine for a short while, noice gone  Replaced the belt with my new spare belt and eureka! The noice is gone and it spins like a cat! Never thought that, I was almost sure that nasty metallic sound would have me drop the sump and check the internals. St...

Re: Noise from the front of the engine
Thanks all for the input! Andrew - I'll start with removing the belt to rule out alternator and water pump. Chris - my first thought, I replaced both the alternator and water pump this autumn haven't run the car since. Maybe the shield got bent or bad adjusted but holding my hand on it I guess I wou...

Noise from the front of the engine
Hi all, been a while since my last post - the car, ser. 1 2+2 1967 4.2 l, has been working good and the small problems I've had I've found solutions here. This time not. Started a while ago when it came up to 2000 revs I had a sound that sounded like some plate or cover were rattling, coming and goi...

Fuel pump problem or...
Hi all, a few years back I had to replace the old pump in my -67 S1 2+2 , did so with a new electronic one. This spring I took the car for a first short run. Stopped at a point and when trying start again the battery was dead (battery had been maintained all winter), jump started downhill, almost at...

I won't take credit for that picture - it's taken in Montana USA by the seller and is one of the pictures on which I decided to buy the car. There were no inspection done for the condition of the car, I took his word for it - did I mention he was British? (no offence ment to anyone in the US). The c...

Tks for all the comments, don't missunderstand me I'm very proud of my 2+2 but I personally think that the series 1 FHC is the most beautiful of all the different beautiful e-type models.
Not so different from the other black one ?

Tks for the input guys, advise has been taken. Will think about the 3.07 vs 2.88, as I intend to do a light upgrade on the engine as well it might coup with 2.88 without any problems. When looking in the forums it looks like it's most commonly replaced with Dana parts - maybe that's just in the US. ...

A dream come true / need advise
So finally at the age of 45 I get the car I always wanted, it's the poor cousin 2+2 (presently two small children needs to be accomodated), but nevertheless it's an e-type - 1967 series 1, black /black (a bit odd, colour schemes advise this combination was not an alternative but production records s...
