Thanks Paul for your reply, it was very helpful. I was able to get all the bits for the luggage area from XKs in California - pretty amazing service just need to work out cheaper freight!

Thanks everyone who replied. Turns out that the threaded hole in this radiator was 1/4"BSP. Thanks Steve too for the tip on the ball valve - I was able to get one from a local wooden boat builder! Now fitted, and holding water!

Hi all,

1966 Series 1 4.2 2 + 2: The exposed parts of the door lock assemblies and the striker plates have a little surface rust and discolouration. I understand that these can be painted or plated.

Is one thing better than the other, and what sort of plating is best?
