I got exactly the same problem yesterday also
when I dismantled the 3AW relay, the resistance was gone, so no option than change
and decided to order the "original" (?) part BMK1092J from B..TT

my 2 cents:
what is your friend FIRST criteria:
. if it's practicality, everyday use: recommend 4.2
. if it's investment potential : recommend 3.8 (although 3.8 have already met ceiling high prices)

allow me not to share the same opinion with my above colleagues on this supposedly easy job...yes, it is , only if nothing breaks but in my case 50% of the studs between manifold ans exhaust broke, and same with the fasteners between manifolds and engine and then you're in deep guacamole... and this...

series 1.5 1968 different models for indicators position ?

Hello while looking at (and for) series 1.5 on the web, I cannot figure out why there are differences on the position of indicators (above/below bumper) for 1968 models (having all series 1 tail lights) here are 2 1968 2+2s: http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x326/rolando381/ATypeE/E112%20up_zpsc5q...

Your starter relay should be on the bulkhead with 5 wires as already mentioned, assuming you have a ballast resistor fitted, if you don't, it might be on the inside of the A post I think. is this the one ? http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x326/rolando381/ATypeE/BDB03908-745B-42E4-9550-B6B9FBE7DA...

thanks guys
I didn't pay too much attention to the battery cable while it was out...
will look again tomorrow; at least it is now clean on the earthing to body side

the only relay I found close to the wiper motor seems to be operating the washer bottle
