I forgot to update my findings.
It seems that the wheel had some rust and the tube was punctured with chrome flakes.
The rubber band I purchased only protects from the spokes in the center and not on the side of the wheel.

Thank you guys, I do understand I'll be sacrificing economy... And I'll keep on searching about a way to get vacuum. But if you read my first post, the question is: Considering that I'll go vacuum-less, should I compensate the timing curve in any way? .... And recommendations for high altitude in re...

On the coil, I think you should check resistance, not voltaje. Also, some distributors use hall effect and don't have a protection, so if you levae your ignition on the unit is fried. Like for example Pertronix .. their system 1 gets fried with ign on, but ignitor II has a protection against it by s...

Why not tap into the manifold and connect there? You can even buy the original suction pipe #C21576 and elbow #C21573 from SNGB for about $20. Once you have that working you can use the Megajolt maps as the basis of your tuning but ideally it needs to be done on a rolling road. It will take longer ...

123/TUNE distributor with webers - vacuumless
I hope this is the right place to post my question, but maybe it should be posted at "UPGRADEs". I got a 123/TUNE programmable distributor and been learning about ignition timing curves. So far so good, but many questions. The 123/TUNE distributor includes a vacuum nipple so a MAP curve can be also ...

Check the inside of each tyre to ensure there are no sticky labels and feel for any irregularities or mould marks (unlikely with Michelin XVS). If you find any run a palm sander around the surface to get things smooth and dust both the tube and tyre with talcum powder. Utmost care is required when ...

Thank you gentlemen, I jut ordered these rubber bands: http://partsxks.com/i-7085520-17-9600-1 ... -four.html
I'll make sure that talc is also used on each tire.
I hate to feel uncomfortably worried while driving or riding. Gotta learn from airplane pilots.

Thank you Peter, unfortunately I live in Mexico where the law of the jungle is what rules.... and based on this, the negligence was mine for over-trusting my mechanic. I have to say my mechanic is a knowledgeable and dedicated guy, who specialize in British cars and himself is a vintage racer .... n...

Rim strips are used an bicycle wheels and tyres - you should not need them on car wheels and I don't even know if they are available. Does sound like a mistake during fitting but what leads you to suspect that? I suspect, because I was not present when they fitted the tires and tubes ... they may h...

My mech installed the brand new 185VR15 Michelin tires yesterday and today the front left blew out while doing >120KMH on a right curve ..... I'm still cleaning the seat and the cabin :) I think it was an installation mistake, but I also think it was the lack of new rimstrips or flaps (?) (I don't k...

Re: New distributor? 123 or Pertronix?
Hi, Well as I said there is a lot in the EDIS thread on curves. With the manuals I mean the original Jaguar series 1 and 2 manuals pages P.11, QY.s.5, PY.s.3 and P.X.s.1. You can find distributor test data. I made my curves based on that information for my original distributor. Hope this helps. Reg...

I agree Mark. He is extremely talented, committed to the quality of his products and impeccably honest. I only hope that I will prove to be an asset for him here in the US. bump! Im considering brakes for my car and would like to know how your brakes are doing. Did you do anything on the back brakes?
