Thanks for the feedback gents, I'll try again this weekend. Very un-nerving round the new paint though!

Rubber Seal Fitment

I'm currently fitting my door seals and quarter light seals to my series 2 2+2, after painting the car. I bought the door seals from Baines. I'm having no luck getting the seals started in the retaining strip, I didn't remove the retainers when the car was painted, I've managed to fit one old quarte...

I went for the Baines seals and my window fitter found them to be of really good quality, he thought the material and profile on the windscreen rubber in particular was excellent and the back window seal was very good too. I've yet to fit the A-post seals, I'll update when I've done them. I wouldn't...

Body Seals 2+2

Can anyone recommend a good supplier of a full body seal kit for my 2+2, I've read a few things about rubber thickness, making it hard to get doors shut properly etc.
Cheers

Gear Lever Gaitor

I've purchased a trim kit for my car and the gear lever gaitor has come through beige, I've looked at tons of pictures, but can only find black, it's going to look wrong next to the black surround anyway. Just want to check I'm right before I ring up to ask for a black one.
Cheers

Heritage certificate turned up today, British Racing Green it is then.
Also turns out the car was manufactured on the 18th December 1969, so it's from a better decade :D

I'll wait for the heritage certificate, but my gut feeling is to go non-metallic BRG.
Thanks for your input.

Thanks David, I hadn't thought of that, I'll do a bit more research before committing to the final colour. I do really like it in the metallic, it's only the fact they didn't remove the glass last time it was painted that made me decide on a full respray.

British Racing Green

My 1970 2+2 is currently being resprayed, it was painted in BRG originally, but has had a respray at some point and it is a metalic finish.
Was a metalic BRG an original option, or was it only available in a non-metalic?

Hi Malcolm,
I've recently bought a 70 2+2, I'm only over the river in Kent.
Brendan, was your car parked up at the back of Druids at the Aston 100th anniversary meeting last year? If so I took a couple of pictures of her.
All the best
Steve.

1970 2+2 LHD Wiring Diagram

Hiya,
I've done a search but not come up with much, can anybody point me in the right direction for a descent wiring diagram, preferably complete, or at least lighting.
Thanks.

She's home

I've now had the car home for a couple of weeks and I'm very happy with my findings so far. Firstly, whilst picking the car up from the docks I was met by a young lad who took me to a couple of very sorry looking E's that needed a lot more love than I have time or money to give, I pointed out that m...
