I had something like that many years ago on a Ford Capri - it turnd out to be the condensor. Also had something like that on a much older car even earlier in my motoring youth and changing the coil and condensor cured it

Just got mine ?225 via Gott and Wynn. Clean licence, agreed value of 65k. I just called Gott and Wynn and got a quote for ?338 - clean licence 5000 mile pa agreed value 65k Perhaps they don't like me !! Which company are you insured by ? For the agreed value I have to supply photos and a statement ...

Andy, the oil in the carb dashpots only effects hard acceleration so it won't be that as long as there is oil in there. I'm assuming that the points, plugs etc have been checked and are fine ? If I was going to spend ?60,000 on a car I'd inspect it in person and then follow it up with a paid inspection by a qualified company who would give a written report.

How much is a flight ticket and 1 night accommodation in UK when you're risking ?60,000 ?
