Re: Minilites; size advice please
For me simple 205/70 VR 15 Vredesteins on 6.5" MWS wire wheels worked very good on the Autobahn up to ca. 220 kph. It's not that they turned bad at higher speeds, but I didn't get to higher speeds for times long enough to judge it. But cruising over the Autobahn is different from racing. So this pro...

Re: Brake Fluid Change
Thank you all for your hints. It took me two litres to change the contents of the clutch reservoir (only) and the brake system. As you said, there was no need to have the engine running. My front reservoir is for the rear brakes, the rear reservoir for the front brakes. One step with opened front br...

I think, biggest part of the 100 HP is due to a tendency to reality/truth/honesty (sorry for me missing the right word for it).

Re: 123 Tune which Coil?
Just following the instructions I found it pretty easy and straightforward.
Since then I'm happy with the 1-2-3 and that is since years.
You'll manage to do it.
Have fun!

Re: Brake Fluid Change
Thank you!
So the rest of the old fluid from both reservoirs will be sucked through even without the vacuum from the running engine?
Sounds easy.

Brake Fluid Change
It's (more than) time to change the brake fluid of my LHD Ser. 1.5. As I didn't find that in the manual, I'd like to ask the experts here before I start: what is the best practice to do this (first pump to the rear brakes, with engine running etc.)? what are the quantities needed? anything I should ...

Than you Hugo, you've mentioned that already somewhere.
In my case the "sticky" bit seems to be at the other side of the wire: st the pedal box.

Re: Mangoletsi wire throttle upgrade
Please forgive me if I bring this up again. The problem is still there: Driving for a longer time on a warm day results in the pedal "sticking" so the revs keep up at something above 3000 RPM in neutral. That is despite strong springs trying to close the butterflies. Any ideas how to make the Mangol...

How about a Yamaha XT 500 for a start? Not to expensive, but value is rising. Lots of fun and character. Easy to work on. Nearly all parts available for pretty cheap money. https://i.postimg.cc/SRcbXQTd/2560px-Yamaha-XT-500.jpg Picture is courtesy of: Von KarleHorn - Eigenes Werk, CC BY 3.0, https:/...

The old GTech Pro/RR takes the RPM from the signal the ignition sends into the electrical system of the car. Big part of this signal is usually eliminated by a condenser to avoid disturbances of the radio, but there must be something remaining, that is identified by the Gtech. The operation manual s...

From my own experience (fourtysome years ago) and from what my boys told me: This trip is a good idea; 16 is a good age. The only real problem might be the mother: Some of them tend to imagine horror movies as soon as the kids don't answer a WhatsApp within seconds. If you can stand that: Let them g...

Re: Bonnet wont stay up on its own
Carsten is right, you can adjust the "upforce" by loosening the srcews that fix the hinge to the (opened) bonnet and slide the hinge (relative to the bonnet) up or down. I don't recall which way increases the upforce, but you'll know, when you look at it - or after you tried it. It's an easy and pre...

RADAR offers the Dimax Classic in your size with white walls.
But I have no idea, if their quality will match their looks - however good or bad that is.

Did anybody try/test the Radar DIMAX CLASSIC?
In 185/80 VR 15 they cost as much as 4 Dunlops - according to the bay.
Maybe one can use these at least for 3 or 4 years and then buy new ones ending up with a better tire than a 5 year old (or even elder) Dunlop...

I have the Lucas PL700 you can buy today and fitted the latest Osram Nightbraker bulbs.
That gives one of the best night visions I have seen with H4 lights - more than "OK".

I used the installation kit of a Garmin Zumo designed for Motor Bikes (rainproof and "take the most beatiful/curvy route"). This kit comprises an antenna (for traffic information to be hidden under the dashboard or at the bottom of the windscreen) and a pair of cables you fix to + and -. The other e...

Got her out on her 51st birthday for the first 150 miles in this year. Brilliant weather but bloody cold in the morning. It's amazing: even after so many years I'm surprised every year again, when I take her out for the first time, how much fun it is to drive her. https://i.postimg.cc/2j0BxJ1H/IMG-7...

@David: Again and again I'm very impressed by your immense knowledge of all things E-Type - related (including even sources for younger ladies scratching E-Type's paint). But in case of the oil flow I really wonder, where you found this information. Before I did the conversion I checked the flow rat...

I use a U-shaped rubber profile, that I put on the chrome strip on top of the wind screen when I close the roof. When open, I put it right between the mirror rod and the windscreen on top of the dashtop panel, so that it isn't bent or in the way. The both vertical arms of the U have a thickness of a...
