Re: Marston Radiator Numbers

A bit late for info the Marston rad plates are screwed onto the top of the radiator with 4 tiny slotted screws. They are not stuck on.

Re: early shell

Don't know if this helps, my November 1961 OTS had seatbelt mounting points on the tunnel and on the floor by the outer sill. It was only fitted with lap belts when got it. Things changed quickly with these early cars so you can never be sure from one week to another what was standard fit. I fitted ...

Or buy a new old type from Barratt’s, paint the top black and try out your skills with tippex
LOL, I tried that with my original, not paint in the extra 5 speed but just trying to smarten it up, ever wish you left well alone

Re: 3.8 5 speed gearbox knob

I noticed an advert that said Classic Jaguar Landrover are having a black Friday sale, 20% off using code SALE20.
I tried the discount and it works, its now come down to £277.49 + £4.99 delivery.
Knock another £150 off and I'll get one

Re: 3.8 5 speed gearbox knob

Why not just stick with the original 4 speed knob? If you need the knob engraved with the 5th gear position you really should not be driving, or consider a move to an automatic  I have considered that option David, as you say by now I am well aware where each gear is and that is probably the...

Re: 3.8 5 speed gearbox knob

Thinking about it today the gear knob is a standard part its only plastic part at the top that is different I would guess, they must be making a massive profit out of them, I hope they don't sell any of them

lets see what offers are in the classic JLR black Friday sale

Re: Flat Dash Dimensions vs Later Standard Dash

You will know easily if it is the correct dash, have a look at the air vents, there are only 3 of them and they are a sort of off white colour that fall to bits if you look at them too long. BAS do an ABS style vinyl that is an almost identical match to the original. You need to have a heat gun and ...

SNG used to sell such a knob, with reverse right and back. Same size as the factory knob. Probably is still on offer from them.
Thanks, I'll have a look.

3.8 5 speed gearbox knob

Anyone know if anyone out there makes the black 3.8 gear knob as original but with 5 speed and reverse on it? I know Uryk had them made and supplied them with his 5 speed gearboxes, not seen them anywhere else, having said that I haven't looked. I have the Classic Jaguar 5 speed box, it came with a ...

I still have the original ones fitted to my brake master cylinders. The clutch one disappeared at some point and wasn't on the car when I got it.

Re: 3.8 In Tank Fuel Pump

I replaced my original in tank pump with an electronic in tank pump from SNGB about 12 years ago, it has been faultless so I recommend it.

Moroso ignition lead

I am after a length of Moroso ignition lead, anyone got a source? I can see plenty in the usual places, all blue, pink, red etc but not a black one. I have the Megajolt installed and for some reason I have corrosion inside the plug cap which causes a misfire. I replaced the terminal and cut the lead...

Re: Slightly vague brakes

The easiest method by far is to make up a fitting for the servo and put a vacuum gauge on it, you can test the vacuum and also adjust at the same time.
I have all you need if you want to borrow it let me know.

Made in England badge

Is anyone remanufacturing the 'Made in England' badge that is riveted next to the chassis plate that actually has the same font as the original badge? I sent mine to someone who said they would like to use it to produce an identical item and that person is no longer in a position to do this and it c...
