Re: Should I save these internal bonnet panels…
I spent a couple years reviving my bonnet on a '62. It probably should have been scrapped - but it turned out very nice with much persistence. If you suspect there was collision damage, be sure your bonnet frame is perfect or you will chase your tail. Be prepared to fix the collective errors and tol...

Re: LWE extended wishbone/technical help needed.
You're making it too difficult. You are changing the length by about 5%. Assuming the bases of the trapezoid are identical and Ignoring the change in the tangent of the angle (assuming a level driveshaft), just use a proportional difference. You will be within camber adjustments at that point. Just ...

Re: First trip in E-Type
Stunning - well done!
My '62 FHC only took 10 years from a slightly worse condition.
There is always hope.
My mantra was "get one thing done each day and eventually it will have to be complete"

Re: Thoughts on buying an E-Type
I live in the States. Lord knows I have no idea what the next year or years will bring. That said, my rule is that if I continue to wish for/think about/research something for one year - I then have a green light to go for it. This filters out whims on big ticket items. I bought a 62 FHC not realizi...

I would torque them back to 75 and call it a day.
Metal deforms, that doesn't mean it yielded. You have nothing to lose trying.
Just an opinion.

The shaft just passes through the throttle housing. Not sure you actually need to remove the wheel.

Re: How to secure sill to sill closing panel?
I will tell you I got in over my head on a 62 FHC. I ended up needing to replace the floor and inner/outer sills. Chuck at MM is the man. His panels had the correct dimensions and curvature. He took the time to walk me through multiple issues and fabricated some custom patch panels for me. The car i...

Re: Mangoletsi throttle pedal assembly
I installed the Mangoletsi on my 62 FHC. Huge improvement. I'm 6'2" and needed more legroom. I measured my TR6 pedal positions (which were also identical to my 73 BMW CSi pedals) and lit the torch. Great upgrade. https://i.postimg.cc/rptHXKVc/IMG-1595.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/nzbPHprm/IMG-1598.jpg h...

Re: How Do You Stay Organized?
Photograph constantly. Use sandwich bags for parts and write on the bag with a black sharpie. You won't remember anything. Drop small notes in the bag with the part if necessary. Eventually, you will spend a ridiculous amount of time searching through your photos... Store old parts and fasteners tha...

Re: LED Light recommendations
I just installed CCL units in my 62 FHC restoration. Needed to switch the green and green-brown wires on my new loom for the flasher unit and also swap the indicator bulbs. Otherwise, painless and they look great.

Found a 7/16 20 UNF bolt that fits the cylinders. Must be a 1/4" line so I will order proper long brake line nuts from Fedhill.com

Master Cylinder Pipe and Nut size?
Greetings - I have installed new masters for Brakes and Clutch on a restoration. I don't have the old pipes/nuts from the Reservoirs to the cylinders. Does anyone know if these are 1/4" pipe (7/16 20 UNF nut) or 5/16" pipe (1/2 20 UNF nut).
Thanks for the insight -

Re: Series I 3.8 dash top
I found an early thin dash under a lot of foam and bad vinyl on my 62 FHC. Same four holes (unused) and two studs for brackets. I cleaned it up and covered in Black vinyl. I designed and 3D printed new vents which are press fit and can accept a mating piece on the underside. I haven't decided if I a...

Re: Etype rebuild
I am seven years in to a complete restoration of an early flat bulkhead 62 FHC. It was all original. At first I was very determined to preserve every bit of it. However, after wading into the disaster hiding under a poor paint job, it became clear I was in for a long education in metal and body work...

I have painted quite a few of my suspension parts. I follow up with a good coat of clear engine paint that tolerates fuel and temperature.
