Re: Top end tapping - still

Sounds like a good idea. It's surprising what some of our experts (not me BTW!) can tell from a recording. I posted a video of my newly refurbed engine running, to sort of boast, only to be told (correctly!) by Christopher that my fan belt was too loose.

Re: Top end tapping - still

Pete, might be worth recording the noise when hot and posting on here so people can hear and make a judgement.

Re: Dipstick locater / bracket

My series 2 has a guide bracket which is fitted behind the bulkhead end exhaust manifold bolt. Holds the dipstick nice and securely. Don't know where to source one, but wouldn't be hard to make one up. I'd post a pic, but haven't got the facility at the moment!

Rev counter redlined from 5000 to 6000. I thought the 3.8s redlined from 5500 to 6500? Wrong rev counter?

Re: New member UK

Hi and welcome to the forum. I'm quite tall (6ft 1in) and had a problem with some. Settled for a series2 2+2 which gave me the room i needed.
Good luck with the search

Pub visit

So, went to my favourite pub in the world, the Fox and Hounds in Fleet, in my small cruiser. Only 5 mins from my house in the boat. Pub is on the banks of the Basingstoke canal. Support-bubble single daughter came with us. The pub was table service only, but no tables left. So pub served us on our b...

Re: Period look radio for 68 2+2

Hi I've recently bought a 1968 2+2 and am having it refreshed by Harvey and the wonderful team at Pitt Lane in Winchester. Mark Harvey has been looking after my car (a '69 2+2) for about 5 years now. Where are you based? By the way, my car has it's original radio which means it only gets MW and LW,...

As Steve said, I'd get hold of Jag Lovers and try to get someone to come out with you.
I had an expert help me with viewing, and the comparatively small cost saved me a fortune.

ceramic coatings

Just seen a pic of a car treated with ceramic coating. Looked amazing, really tough finish too. Not referring to film coating. Anyone here had this done?

Mine is a '69 2+2 and has push button in handle locks. Pretty sure they are original.
