Re: xke 67 fhc distributer question
My knowledge is also limited! However, putting an unknown dizzie set up in sounds dodgy. What sort of advance curves is it set to give you? Can they be adjusted easily? Maybe if you want no issues with points, go for a 123 distributor which lots of us have done. Or use your existing dizzie but put i...

PS. I'm assuming that you're fitting the sprockets into the chain with them disconnected from the camshafts. There will not be enough chain to get the chain on if you already have the sprockets installed.

Sounds from the original post wording that this could be the issue?

Re: Exhaust system
I have very limited technical knowledge. However, I know that exhaust design is a very important and technical matter, so "drilling holes" in a carefully designed product would concern me. I know people may argue that the design wasn't that robust in the first place, but personal modification would ...

Hmm, can't see it getting that much to be honest. I'd like to see it as a 2+2 owner myself, but I think it's over priced in today's market.

I wasn't convinced - and why 64? Or did I miss the explanation for that? (Didn't listen to it all!) 64 doesn't convert to a round KPH number.

Hi and welcome to the forum. The car looks great.
I thought your username probably reflected the fact that you like steaks!
Or is that just a UK name for a type of steak?

Re: Rain?
I try to avoid heavy rain where possible, but on a weekend away (or even harder a two week trip) you can’t avoid rain so it doesn’t bother me. If you want to drive lots in the U.K., you have to put up with rain

Good, but not if you have LEDs like me!ralphr1780 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 12:07 pmTurn the lights on, the incandescent bulbs will generate enough heat to demist, usually its good for some weeks before any mist is back.

Sadly, about sums it up. Except you used the word "Christmas" and should have said "Festive holiday"

Re: New member in Guadalajara
Hi Pablo and welcome to the forum! I can't answer most of your questions, but there will be many who can! In this country, the difference in value between a series 1 and a 1.25 wouldn't be great, unless you were comparing a later series 1 to a flat floor, or outside bonnet locks car. Of course I can...

Re: E10 in my fuel tank!
Thanks for replies re: cold starting. I just wanted to be sure there was no known cause for this with a known cure and to understand if it is a general "problem". I cannot see it as due to waiting for the carbs to fill as once the pump stops ticking, they are full surely. Seems rather odd, to me. I...

Re: E10 in my fuel tank!
My car also takes loads of churning when it's been left for a while. I think it takes time to draw enough mixture into the big balance pipes. Starts immediately from hot, and from cold when in regular use. So again, I would suggest nothing to worry about. Just make sure you keep your battery topped ...

Re: E10 in my fuel tank!
In Europe I often had to run on E10. No harm. Maybe long term with continual use there might be, but I'm sure the occasional tankful will do no harm.
