Re: Wiring Harness Routing(s) S1 4.2

Hi Steve, I am only now picking up your reply to my query to Christopher Storey regarding the routing of my E-Type wiring looms. I am so sorry to hear that Christopher passed away some months ago and I would like to thank you very much for letting me know. He will be sorely missed - such a great sou...

Re: Wiring Harness Routing(s) S1 4.2

Hi Christopher. In January 2013 you replied to Norman Macleod regarding the routing of the wiring harnesses in his E-Type. You helpfully posted several photos but regretfully, these are no longer available. I know it's a long shot but would you still have these photos or can they be made available a...

Many thanks for your very speedy reply. I'm glad for the confirmation. I thought the fuel tank was supposed to be difficult but the bumpers .........

S1 4.2 rear bumper spacers

Hi Gents, Can anyone please advise me where the round mounting spacers are fitted on the rear bumpers? As you know, there are three mounting points but only two of the spacers per side. I'm guessing that one is fitted to the mounting beside the overrider and the second one on the middle mounting bol...

Special Bolt but unknown part number or purpose

Hi gents, I have two bolts, 2 3/8" x 7/16" (possibly UFB 131/19R) with a half depth head, which I set aside whilst stripping the rear suspension. I thought, (as I'm sure many of us have done), that these odd bolts were obvious where they went so I didn't put them in a bag and labelled them! Now I am...

Hi Steve and Michael,

Many thanks for your help. I have checked the archive and the link works great. I will also send Chris a PM to see if he can somehow sort out the Error at his end.

Many thanks.

Re: Chris Vine's E-Type Rebuild by category

Hi Steve,

Not having much luck. Got his profile but cannot get his email address. When I click on "send Chris an email" I am presented a page which still requires me to insert his email address. The only address I have returns the HTTP ERROR 500 message. Any other ideas?

Many thanks.

Chris Vine's E-Type Rebuild by category

Hi gents, I have been trying to open Chris Vine's webpage, "E-Type Rebuild by category" and keep getting the error message, etype.chrisvine.com HTTP ERROR 500 and the page obviously won't open. Has anybody else found this problem and if so, have you found a solution? I think the Error Code HTTP 500 ...

Hi Tim,

That's what I thought so thanks very much for the confirmation. Fortunately the cage is out so it should be straight forward enough ......... after the fight to get the tank in first!

Fitting the fuel tank

Hi Gents, I cannot find information of how the fuel tank mounting bracket and its associated reinforcement plate are actually fitted to a S1 OTS. It is obvious that the mounting bracket is fitted inside the boot but what about the reinforcing plate? Is it fitted inside the boot or is it fitted outsi...

Re: S.1 RHD Speedo Cable Clip C17140

Hi Ian,

Many thanks for the picture. It is hard to identify exactly where the clip is bolted to. Can you please tell me exactly where on the car this picture is taken?

Thanks for your help and I look forward to hearing from you.

Kindest regards,

Re: Alternator Wiring

Hi David and many thanks for replying. I have posted a picture of my alternator showing the connections available. Can you assist further in how I should connect this up and which wires go where? Also, I will fit a Battery Voltage gauge instead of the Ammeter. Am I right in saying that all I need to...

Re: Alternator Wiring

Hi Merek, Just downloaded a S3 wiring diagram and regretfully, not only does the wiring of the alternator show a separate regulator but also an ignition warning light switch which was deleted from the early S1 ! I'll keep trying anyway and hopefully a forum member will be able to give me a wiring di...
