Re: New exhaust required

Thanks John.
Sounds good to me. My existing system is custom made from what I can tell and since I'm only looking to replace the centre boxes, I may go a different route. Either way, thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

Re: New exhaust required

Hi All,
I also need a new exhaust and wondered if anyone has any experience of the system offered by Jaguar Classic Parts?
I'm keen to keep the car sounding right by using mild steel and the prices look reasonable...

Thanks,

Hi Chris,
Looking at the pics, I think mine is the same. My S2 was built in 69 too.
I will contact RM & J Smith and brace myself for the price!
Appreciate your help...

LHD to RHD S2 ignition switch

Hi Guys, I'm just gathering parts for my LHD to RHD conversion. I'd like to move the ignition switch to the left hand side of the column like the UK cars had. Does anyone know what I need to do that? I'm guessing I might need the column and cowling..... And that'll be hard to get, but hoping someone...

Squeaking Brakes

Hi, I am hoping you can help. I've just finished refurbishing the front brakes on my S2 OTS and have an annoying brake squeal that happens when the brakes warm up. I've changed disks, pads, calipers and anti rattle clips. There is copper grease between pads and Pistons too. Really not sure what else...

Front discs - keep or replace?

Hi Guys, I've been lurking on this forum for a while now and have found it to be very useful. Last year I imported a 69 OTS and I'm just cracking on with my list of winter jobs. Whilst working on the front hubs I noticed that the discs look very old, thin and appear to have some edge chips. I think ...

One other thing. Does anyone know what size the bolt is that holds the damper onto the crank? It's bigger than 1.25inch which is my largest socket so need to buy one....
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks for the replies. I don't fancy trimming any metal, so I guess I'll get the sump off and have a look. Don't fancy taking the head off either to be honest.....might just have to put up with the leak.....

Timing cover oil seal replacement

Hi Guys, I've recently become the proud owner of a '69 OTS in primrose. I've imported it from the USA and it seems very solid. I'm taking care of a few jobs before I get it on the road. The water pump is leaking so I've got that off the car at the moment and I'm now thinking about changing the front...

Hi Dave,
I was going to use shipmycar too but I was going to do the conversion myself.
I like working on cars, and thought it'd save me a few quid as well.
I'd be interested to know what they do. I'd reckon there are several ways to do the conversion. Some better than others.
Cheers,
Mark

Mine is many weeks away yet. Only have deposit down right now.
Who are you using for shipping?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thx

Hi, Funnily enough I too am in the process of importing a 1970 Roadster from the USA. Would love to hear how you got on. I'm guessing I need to change the headlamps, front indicator lenses and wiring to split side light and indicator and change the rear lenses/wiring to split brake/main light from i...
