Body No and other Crayon Markings on S1

I thought we could start a thread with Body markings on S1 .38 and then move the essence to the Factory Fit Thread?

Re: Fastening crash padding assembly on A pillar?

Many thanks Richard - is there a piece of casing covered with vinyl inside?
Do you have a photo of the original?

Re: Fastening crash padding assembly on A pillar?

Steve, The thick padded area ends where the roof meets the A pillar.. Then (originally) there was a rather thin padded area. There is no way a screw can go in there, unless it's ultra special, cut for the right length. I have to dig out the original padding for this to give you an idea.. https://i.p...

Re: Fastening crash padding assembly on A pillar?

Jonathan, I do not see how it can be fixed with the pan head screws in the A pillar section - there is no padding where these screws can go in.... Tadek Hi Tadek As far as I understand, whilst the rubber trim channel is fixed by rivets the fixing of the can’t rails and the A post padding as you desc...

Fastening crash padding assembly on A pillar?

I have been working on my upholstery last months and came to the point where I can install the crash padding. Could anyone help how it is fastened to the A pillar? I would think the green circles is where the rivets are (riveted from the rubber seal U channel side?) There are though also 2-3 holes w...

Crayon type for car number bulkhead markings?

This may be a dumb question, but what's the type of crayon that was used for marking on the bulkhead?
Pastel oil crayon?..
Wax crayon?

My kids have a variety, and I am not sure what to choose... ;-)

Re: BD18117/4 seat slide bolts length

Yes, So:

Spacer: 12/32"
seat slide: 3/32"

Leaves 5/16" for the floor thread.

I always wonder - do you teach kids in school to calculate in fractional inches?? In which grade??

I think fractional inches open up ones mind to a different, more challenging system..... :-)

Re: BD18117/4 seat slide bolts length

Many thanks Stuart,

So again, to confirm it's a pan head slot screw ¼” UNF thread, not pointed.

Harold Lang e-mailed me earlier that he measured it to 25/32", which is just 1/32" longer.

The spacer that you have there on the photo is 3/8", am I correct?

BD18117/4 seat slide bolts length

I am trying to find the proper length and the end type for the BD18117/4 seat slide bolts which bolt the seat slides to the floor. They were slotted, flat head type like these: https://www.ebay.de/itm/121739533356?hash=item1c583ddc2c:g:pDcAAOSwu4BV2beI however would anyone have their length? Were th...

Re: Crash Padding Assemblies on Cantrails

Hi, I have saved mine.

I am not willing to apart with them, but I can help - how do you want me to share the profile with you?
Photo, or some cutout?

Width is 0.95"
Height is 0.52"

So, it's kind of half a pipe that's about 1" in diameter.
