Re: help advice please
Paul, your flag shows you’re in the US, are you therefore looking to import one or other from Europe to America? Have you physically seen either car? As you can appreciate it is only when you are able to properly inspect a car that you or anyone from the forum can get a truly useful idea of a car’s ...

Re: Brake Issues - S1 4.2l OTS
There are some online courses to help look after classic cars, such as: https://www.skillshack.co.uk/ That could be a starting point to help you learn. Look in the technical knowledge section for a list of the books to buy and you can download a page or two from the manuals to print out and have to ...

Re: Overflowing Fuel
Ed, please don't do it!! Why not say where you are? Maybe one of the knowledgeable of the forum lives close enough to drop by and give you a guiding hand. Or are you a member of either the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club or Jaguar Drivers Club? They will have local people who know and understand these engin...

Phil, as was posted in another topic, trickle chargers are good for a fairly sound battery but won’t charge up from really low. Whereas the old fashioned chargers do. If you’ve got one of those try that on your battery. I’ve certainly found the old style useful to have around.

Re: Series 3 OTS on rotisserie
Hello, do you have a name you could add to your signature? Click on your user name to do that and to add your car type. If it helps, I recently had my S2 OTS on a rotisserie. By coincidence it had balanced fairly well with the rear pivot roughly at the centre of the number plate. Front one at a simi...

Why not look at the description at a well known supplier to see what they make it from?

Re: 6 cylinder in a series 3?
Ascot Fawn shows a US location, if that’s correct then the DVLA will not be involved. However, why try all the complication of fitting a straight six if a V12 with HSE (?) head will give all the wonderful torque and flexibility loved by S3 owners and improve the fuel consumption to closer to 4.2 str...

Re: Series 1 bonnet fitting
Similar to Keith, I found it an iterative process to get the same gaps all round. Though that was for an S2 with the strut not the springs of the S1, but can't see why it shouldn't be the same. As for gaps. What do you have on the doors? Are you trying for the same gap? I've generally aimed for arou...

Re: Headlamp flash
Ash, don’t you get headlight flash by pulling the indicator switch towards you? I’ve never regarded the main/dip switch as a way to flash the headlights, except by flicking it up/down when the headlamps are on. Which is clumsy, at least imho, but everyone to their own.

Have you tried looking on the SNG Barratt website for them both? The photos show slight differences, though I have no personal experience of the S1 item to compare.

London Concours 5th June
Spotted this should anyone be in London or care to have their pride and joy on show. On Wednesday 5th June, the London Concours, in partnership with Jaguar, pays homage to one of the greatest and most enduring icons of automotive design: the Jaguar E-type. Present in all its evolutions and variants,...

Henda, do you have a name? Do you have the proper manual? JAGUAR E TYPE MODELS 3.8 & 4.2 LITRE SERIES 1 & 2 SERVICE MANUAL The long river company has them. Jerry, not all are push fit and you’ll see a screw hole in that fleabay item to help hold it in place. Worth adding that. And yes, as Mich says in your other topic, upgrade to relay.
