David, that's the one, I can now just make out what i thought was an A but is the H. I take you do not need a photo of this as your photo is so much clearer than mine?
Cheers
Paul.

Behind the rear number plate. Will be held on by two rivets and should be oblong in shape. Whilst you are there any change you could give me some details on the rear plate itself? I am interested if it has a makers name on it (typically Bluemels) and if it just a flat plate or whether it has a rais...

Body number.
Hi chaps, could anybody fully identify where I can find the body number stamped? I am aware that it is on the ID plate but I beleive it is also stamped on the body itself?
Thanks
Paul.
Thanks
Paul.

Thanks Mark, I had an interesting find today, as I said earlier we have a correct R prefix 3.8 engine in the car. However some idle googling revealed the original engine fitted to this car R1661-9 is sat in an XK150 chassis S837930DN as found on XK Data. Good news that it's still running and never e...

Alan, I did load the data and photos on XKE data last night but it's not showing yet. This was delivered on 6 November 1961 and has the flat floor pan. I am awaiting the Heritage Certificate to arive. I have the old original logbook which states the car was cream. I'll take your word on the radiator...

Morning David and thank you for the advice, that's come as a bit of a shock, being passoinate about motoring and having owned a few XJs in the past I knew it was a desirable car but not to that extent. I also realised that a poorly executed, under funded restoration would probably be detrimental to ...

David, the car is my brothers and until uncovered you don't know what condition they are in. We are both passionate about cars and I have a 92 944 S2 rolling restoration on which I carry out most of the mechanical stuff but no bodywork. This quite frankly is a whole different league in regard if ski...

Recently rescued 850107........
Hi all my name is Paul and I thought I would register here and share the recent discovery of 850107. This early E type OTS has been stored in the back of a double garage (sideways on) since 1973. The owner put it up on bricks, removed the sills for repair and then never carried out any further work....
