Re: Broken clock from a 1969 series 2 E-type
[quote="johnetype"]Overall, as you may know, these clocks are nothing but trouble and you could consider having it converted to a quartz movement inside keeping the original face, hands and case. There is a link on the Coolcat site and this is what I plan to do with my clock: Yes, I already saw that...

Broken clock from a 1969 series 2 E-type
Hello, The clock from my '69 Etype is broken down :helpsos: After one year running on a 1,2 Volt AA battery the clock death on me  I took it apart, and when I put 1.2 volt (pulsing) on the coil, the clock is running. In my opinion, the capacitor or transistor is broken. Text on those components...

Re: Wrong Door Frame Rubber Seal
The one on the right is usually shaped like the one on the left after a few years of use. Suppose it depends whether you prefer pre-shrunk stone-washed denim, or wearing out your own jeans in person... I do not believe the rubber lip will rise through time because it doesn't hit anything (maybe via...

Re: Polish cam covers and Stomberg carbs
I started with 600 (wet sanding) and finished with an old 800 paper. The top I did with a block because I only wanted the rills (is that english..) to be polisched, not the groves.Bernie2015 wrote:They look great - what grade sandpaper did you use?

Re: Polish cam covers and Stomberg carbs
I polished my cam covers! first removed the black paint by sanding (sand paper) them and then (only) glass blasing the groves. After that I polisched the hell out of them

Wrong Door Frame Rubber Seal
Hello, I replaced my door Frame Rubber Seal (outsite chrome frame arround window) by new ones that I pursched from SNG. I noticed that the new ones had a different shape then the old ones (see attachment). Left is the new and right to old. The lip that must seal to the door frame lies flat  Di...

Mirror
I sent you a PM Simon Hi, I did a lot of searching for door mirrors for Series 3 cars, if I am right, then those fitted to early Series 3 are the same as those fitted to Late Series 2 and possibly all Series 2 cars. If these are the mirrors you seek (see forum topic below): http://forum.etypeuk.com/...

RHD Mirror Jaguar E-type
Hello,
Does anyone know where I can buy an "OLD" RHD E-type series II mirror that mounts on the door?
I Have a '69 LHD E-type but when I reverse I miss the second (or third) mirror!
Yes you can buy them new, but they have a black plastic frame around them....

Henkie : the correct quantity on a refill including filter is 14.5 pints ( 8.25 litres ) . Do not rely on the dipstick until you have filled the sump precisely, which will tell you whether the dipstick calibration is correct. I should perhaps say that the book says 15 pints ( 8.5 litres ) but the m...

oil change automatic gearbox
I changed the oil by removing the filling tube and the oilpan. The filter is a steel one so you can wash it out and use it again. The converter doesn't have a drainplug so there will be some oil left behind I filled the gearbox with Repsol Dexron II D (8,5 liters) and checked the oil level (warm in ...
