Re: Small Petrol Leak
Hi Simon. There is nothing wrong with leaving the ignition on, just remove the white wire at the coil to stop it over heating. Its a good way of checking you are not getting flooding. What fuel pump do you have if its been changed from standard you may have to higher fuel pressure. Have you got the ...

Re: Black Polybush issues?
Hi Steve. I am having problems with these Polybushes & I know of other people who are getting problems. The flanges peal off at the ends & yes I do set them up with all the weight on the car. The last set I fitted gave problems after about 500 miles . I have fitted them for years without a problem u...

Re: SU Fuel Injection
Tom Barclay racing is doing it, they put the injectors in the inlet manifold.
There is a you tube video of it.
They will sell you just the bits you need or do it all.

It does go away eventually .
Many thanks Neal.

Re: Replacement fuel gauges - different case spec?
Richard. Caerbont Automtive Instruments is the firm you need to contact if you need new gauges. They have all the original Smiths tooling & all the cases are steel as in the past. The part number for the fuel gauge is BF2200-12 ,I have mixed their gauges with original ones & you can't tell. Hope thi...

Re: Series 1.5 conversion LHD to RHD
I would move your ignition switch to the instrument panel if you are using a S1 panel.
It is very easy to convert a MK2 panel to work on a E-type.

Re: Series1.5 steering column conversion LHD to RHD
I see this has moved on a bit , sorry not to have got the dim. sooner .
The length of the outer column on a S1 4.2 1965/1966 is 198 mm .
This is just the tube length.
Hope this helps Neal.

Re: Series1.5 steering column conversion LHD to RHD
I will take some measurements in the next few days, I can also take some pictures but it will be a S1 car.
I purchased all the parts from Hutson's.
If you can post the pictures that will help, if not PM me & I will give you my email to send them to.

Re: Tyres advice please.
I have been using Blockley for a number of years now with no problems , I have fitted them to MK1 & MK2 as well as XK120's .
Andrew makes a good point at the end of his post .
MWS can supply you with most makes of tyres but they say they supply more Blockley than anything else .

Re: Series1.5 steering column conversion LHD to RHD
Yes the S1 upper column assy. will fit your 1.5 but you need the inner & outer plus brackets etc. You also need the lower steering column C20487 as this has the forged in fork for the lower UJ. It may be possible to add a UJ joint assy. to your lower shaft. I did carry out the conversion you are doi...

Re: Air filter drum support bracket
Hi Harvey. If you have new toe boards fitted if you look inside the car you will see a nut insert that is not used by the engine frame fixing bolts but its not been drilled through the panel. This is what you need, just drill through from inside the car first with the tapping size drill & then open ...

Do you know the actual temp. you are getting from the engine.
I have had lots of poor/incorrect reading temp senders , which make it look like its over heating when its not.
Just a thought.

Hi Mike.
Just had another thought which you would have to think about before telling the man with the clip board.
If you did buy new calipers from SNG or any one for that matter they may say Dunlop on them but they are not made by Dunlop.
The only way would be to get the old ones reconditioned.

Hello Christopher. Not to worry it just happened that I had been into Zeus last Friday. They make a vast range of products for the classic car industry not just Jaguar most makes. They have their own foundry & machine shop & make everything in house , which Coopercraft do not. Its a very complicated...
