to give some closure to this topic, I eventually gave up and called a friend who knows car electrics, he found some loose connections behind the gauges. I didn't think this could be the issue, but it was, it got the point that my car wouldn't even start. I now have some new spade connectors, heatshr...

I tried sandpaper on the connections at either end of the fuse last night, as well as trying a few more fuses ad still I have not managed to sort it. I have borrowed a voltage tester to see if power is getting to the fuse.

What else could stop all of these working? Everything worked okay before

Cheers for all the replies, I will investigate the fuse further tonight, although I do have a pack of 10 at hand, and tried 2 or 3 of these already. I will clean the contacts with emry paper too and advise if this helps.... I hope its something as simple! I was wondering if fitting the seats I could...

S2 indicators, brake lights and gauges stopped working

Hi all, I have a problem with my car that I would appreciate some advice on. The other day I was at my mates bodyshop fitting some new mx5 seats (not sure if this is related or a coincidence) but when I left I noticed that most of the electrics were no longer working. On further inspection it seems ...

apparently its Opalescent Silver Grey, I want to change the interior (mostly very worn and tired anyway) to either maroon or light brown.

It needs new carpets and hardura so figure may as well change it to a colour I like!

Cheers for the info David, I would love a S2 OTS but I would struggle to afford a good enough one at the minute, I have seen a few FHC around the price I want to pay though. Taking note of what you say about it turning into a full rebuild, would rather avoid that if I can. Bought a copy of 'The Esse...

Thanks for the info. Having done a lot more research (and organised the all important test drive) I am going to aim for a S2 car. I plan to buy one early next year and I expect that comfortably I can spend ?40k. For that price I realise I won't be getting a top grade car, is it worth looking at proj...

I have been looking mostly at S2 models, and I would be happy to have LHD or Auto or both. Would rather avoid the twin Stromberg carbs, in favour of triple SU's

New member and new to the E-Type

Hello, just signed up here after spending a few weeks reading and learning about all things E-Type. I am hoping to sell my alloy body XKR soon, and put the cash towards a FHC at some point next year. I have owned a classic mustang fastback for over 3 years, and other various classics before that, ho...
