camshaft sprocket vernier adjustment plate.

Does anyone know how many teeth it has? The 4.2 series 1 engine, 2 hole version. I ask because during cam timing with #6 piston at TDC I am able to get the cam alignment gauge to the point where it is touching on one face of the head and with about 10thou clearance on the other. I calculate about 1/...

Also agreed. I have about 100k miles on the 66 mk10, (same head as your e-type), since the last valve job which at the time was nothing more than installing new guides, (phosphor bronze), and lapping with grinding paste by hand. At that time, about 20 years ago the car had about 50k on it. So, yes a...

Uk coastal drive in september

Hello all

I think I am going to go for it, the whole hog, every stage. Maybe the best road trip ever!
And it's a very relevant health issue that needs all the help funding it can get.
Just trying to get the ok from my boss here in NYC.
Anyone else on board?

best Nick

I live in New York but actually keep my E type in England.
Having said that I would be happy to look at any cars that UK members may be interested in buying, so long as it's within a reasonable, say 300 miles driving distance of New York.
Any excuse to to take the mk10 for a good run.

I have gone the other direction and sought out NOS units for not just a 67 E type but also a 68 Daimler sovereign and a 66 mk10. So far this has been succesful. A key point is that on the originals there is an adjustable potentiometer which at least I found useful in fine tuning settings. I also had...
