Re: Steering column issue
Hi guys Thanks for all your help I think I’ve managed to solve the problem. I cut the inner fixing bracket down by 4mm re welted it and when bolted it back to the bulk head the column is just about dead centre. https://s10.postimg.org/cv62epzp5/244_E5_A3_A-3_FBE-4_B71-9_A7_F-07_B340_D552_AB.jpg http...

Re: Steering column issue
Many thanks for your replies it’s reassuring to know that it’s not something I’ve missed and is a common problem. I am looking at shortening the second steering wheel bracket (around 5mm) to allow the column to raise slightly and possibly alleviate the problem. I will let you know how I get on 😀😀 Th...

As the column comes through the bulk head it's very low almost touching the bottom of the the bulk head housing. Has anyone experienced this issue? Is it something I have missed? Any help apprec...

Hi I was wondering if anybody could help me. I am assembling my engine ( series 2 4.2) and when I have looked inside the assembly there is what seems to be a pressure valve loose inside the houseing. It appears it is a push fit into one of the holes I was just wondering if this is correct and which ...

Re: S2 rear brakes
Thanks for replies, Andrew I will post a picture tomorrow. The callipers are all built and the actual Pistons fit fine, it's just the dust seals don't seem to be good fit in the calliper housing, they are however fitted and when pressured they work fine. The dust seals onto the piston are fine also ...

Hi all I have recently changed the Pistons in the rear callipers of my 1970 S2 etype (together with seals and dust covers). I bought stainless steel ones from SC parts and the pistons have a different size grove in than the original ones and a different dust cover than the original ones. They fit ok...

Finally got my e-type 😀
After years of dreaming months of looking, I have now purchased my Jaguar 4.2 series 2 LHD convertible one owner car with 51k miles all the way from the USA 😀😀😀 The car is running and sounds very healthy, body needs a bit of attention but I have seen a lot worse! It's never been restored and pretty ...
