Steve
Thanks. I had not been able to find an online version before now. It looked so very familiar and brought back some memories. I must have spent hours studying that parts catalogue during the 10 years I owned my car!

Need some part numbers please
It's been a while since I have been on here because I sold my silver 1972 E-type 2+2 back in April 2014. Still think about it often! During a bit of a garage clearout I found some parts I want to sell on eBay. I gave away my parts catalogues with the car and I would like to use the part numbers in t...

Richard I went to one of those seminars at CMC a few years ago. They had a rather nice series 3 in the air with the brake air ducts fitted so I took a few pics. I don't have them fitted to mine as I did not think I'd be driving mine hard enough for the brakes to get so hot and I just thought they wo...

Sounds more like a fueling problem to me. Likely a failed fuel pump. Can you hear the fuel pump in the rear wing ticking when the ignition is on? If so is it ticking really fast? If so you are out of fuel or you have a blocked fuel line. If it is a steady tick then can you hear the return valve next...

Simon. You might remember my carb issue from a couple of years ago. I was actually trying to suss out the choke operation but I had a long standing problem with slight hesitancy at steady higher RPM. I had changed goodness knows how many parts and thought I'd try balancing the carbs. So I bought an ...

Gary; When you pull out the choke cable, two things happen; the butterflies open a fraction to allow in extra air through the inlet manifold and into the engine and the choke body moves round to allow extra fuel through pin holes into the chamber. The butterflies on each pair open in parrallel becau...

Well I sussed what was wrong. After much head scratching, I realised the carb cam was slightly bent on one side so the screw holding open the choke slipped off as I pulled the choke out. This meant I was getting choke only on 2 carbs and 6 cylinders. No wonder it wouldn't idle properly on choke! I s...

Starting on Choke
My car starts OK, but won't run for more than about 30 seconds on choke without dying. If I'm driving it on a cold engine, I'm constantly pulling and pushing the choke depending on throttle just to keeep the engine running. It runs fine when warmed up. I recently had everything on all 4 carbs to bit...

What options are open to Club members who don't have the time or cash (?1,500 per couple!) for the Club's 3 day package? I'm no scrooge but surely I, like many others on here are just normal blokes with young families trying to maintain their own cars as best they can without breaking the bank. I wa...

Ignition Timing
I have an SNG Barratt's ignition kit but no instructions. I cannot quite get the dynamic ignition timing correct using the adjuster on the side of the distributor because it is already at maximum adjustment. I've got some of the cross-rail gubbins off and removed the cap, and rotor, but what now? If...

Manual Gearbox Mount
I am in the process of re-fitting my IRS and a new propshaft. having bolted the prop to the gearbox I fitted the gearbox mounting plate bracket and spring and it now looks like this. http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii17/markgriffiths/DSC01327Medium.jpg Two questions: 1. When I removed this plate ...

As it happened I was working in Leicester this week so I dropped my diff off at Eric Battelle in Derby on the way down. I only found him through Chris Rooke's book. I picked it up again tonight on the way home and paid him ?15. Nice enough chap, though he wouldn't tell me just how he managed to get ...
