Timing
Will, I drove mine up onto ramps to have a fighting chance, as Pete states once you find the timing marks they can be very faint. Clean them up and take a while to study what you see, you will find they become more visible the longer you look. Be careful of the wiring if using a strobe light as the ...
Charlie, as Harry has mentioned check the fixings inside the passenger footwell underneath the carpet, I have a simular noise since I rebuilt my servo but thats caused by the seal inside the unit sticking slightly after releasing the break. Where the servo abutts the body work there should be plasti...

Reopus
If this is the system S&G Barrett sell I have had it on the car for over a year with no problems or benefits that I can see, if buying you need to ask for the convesion cable to install on front end rather than in the V which is what I have, although I here its not as heat sensitive as Opus was. Chrome caps
Andrew, my screen was changed earlier this year and like you I had to fiddle with things until they lined up, I would say remember the masaic cast caps are very fragile and cant be stretched, shaving the rubber sounds a good idea. Good lick Alfi.

Breather hose
Hello Pete, I would think they are formed to this shape as over such a small length straight hose would kink. If you could achieve the same bend using straight hose i cannot see it would make any differance other than saving a small fortune. Let us know how you get on as mine are very loose and in n...

Headlights
Lance, I fitted Halogens to my V12 as the originals were like dim candles, I also fitted relays behind the offside headlamp doing away with the standard box connector which was falling apart anyway, I used new connectors in its place. Soldier as much as you can earth everything and you will be more ...

Alex, now you own an etype you will find many moments of heartache, all rewarded by those fleeting moments of pleasure trust me I know from experience. Like all the best things in life no pain no gain, do the old girl a favour and give her plenty of use it worked for me I am no longer aware of squee...

Route for jet pipe
From memory my one feeds through a hole in the double skinned area of the bonnet which closes above the firwall next to the inner wing and reappears out through the inside bulge of the bonnet near to the jet itself, you should also have the tags which keep it in line coming up from where it leaves t...

Hi Steve, I too run on Barretts new ignition set up, I set my timing at 12 btdc and the car seem's to run fine on 97 octane, although I need to give it to someone to get the final settings sorted out, having never driven another E-Type I feel there is a bit more power to be gained. After going as fa...

Green stuff pads
Eric, I have 2000 miles on the fronts and 1200 on the rear of my S111 showing no ware, maybe yours have suffered overheating at some point, worth checking. In my case they were the only pad not to squeek under breaking. Good luck with the answer Alfi.

plastic bottles
Hello Eric, I have heard people having this problem in the past and it seems it can be the plasic tube at the bottom of the bottle breaking away from the main body, as its brittle you cannot always see the problem it just weeps as you say. Good luck with finding the probem Alfi.
