Re: Etype 60 Shelsley Walsh
We too had a great couple of days and then started a trip around the Cotswolds. Yesterday the clutch slave cylinder gave out, just as I came up to a junction. Did not want to try and drive the car with no clutch so spent 5+ hrs whilst the RAC sorted out a road side visit, sourcing the correct part, ...

Re: Wind Deflectors
I brought a deflector for my series 3 from classic additions at one of the shows. It seams to be a standard deflector but with brackets for the e-type that needed to be bolted into the hard top mountings but I found a couple of issues. the hardtop bolts are coned to a degree so did not hold the defl...

indicator issues
copied from series 3 area hoping others can help Just removed indicators on my S3 to change the mounting rubbers as old ones a bit worn. When removed found that there was a large amount of what appears to be some form of rubber filler, which I had to carefully remove with a scrapper from the paint w...

MOT status
I have been looking at the possibility of MOT exemption for my series 3, it was booked in for service and MOT the week of the shutdown which not surprisingly cancelled by garage. I looked into process of MOT exemption which as always with government rules as clear as mud and it seemed to suggested t...

Indicator Fitment
Just removed indicators on my S3 to change the mounting rubbers as old ones a bit worn. When removed found that there was a large amount of what appears to be some form of rubber filler, which I had to carefully remove with a scrapper from the paint work. Not surprisingly the new ones do not fit pro...

Re: S3 Electrical Problem
I believe that the fuse on the frames also powers the fans. I had that blow on a trip to France when one of the Fans let go, took 20 mins in the queue for the tunnel to find the problem, minutes to fix, lucky I had a spare.

Re: Anyone tested this Wind Deflector from E-bay?
I brought one that looks very similar at one of the major shows cant remember who, but they did covers as well, which was the reason to visit the stand. I found that it does make a difference but the fitment was not 100%. It fitted to the hard top mounting bolts, which are tapered therefore did not ...

Re: Servicing & Maintenance in Surrey
Ian, I purchased my car through them over 2 years ago and they have been looking after it since. There was a lot to do as the car had not been used very much for nearly 8 years and starting to use it brought out a number of issues, which they have sorted out. Even the interesting problem I have had ...

Re: Pulling to the right
Car back from the garage, with new shocks all round and a rebuilt diff. Problem all fixed and car much more stable all round. It appears it was the diff, they have not seen the problem before even through they have been working with e-types for many years. Happy to have a back and the weather seems ...

Currently discussing the possibility of a series 3 version of David's windbreak. Reports of the item are good and will happily let the forum know want I think about it. David does seem to be very busy, good sign that the windbreak seems to be well received. It wa meationed in the original post that ...

Pulling to the right
Whilst travelling down to Le Mans the car developed an interesting fault which caused us to abandon the vehicle at a local French garage and then have to repatriate the vehicle yesterday. We did make it to Le Mans but not quite in the style we had imagined a Renault Clio is not the same as an E-Type...

Le Mans Trip
Just organising a trip down to Le Mans for the Classic in July. Only having owned my series 3 e-type for less than 1 year, this will be the longest trip in the car, managed London to Exeter last year (not bad for a car that had only done 400 miles in 4 years previously), did need a bit of work when ...
