Droped My Engine off at CMES on Thursday
Dear All, just a short note to say that I dropped my engine off at CMES on Thursday http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w333/tony_edwards2/20151112_142233_zpsigxbojdu.jpg They certainly seem to know their way around an engine. Mine is 3rd or 4th Jaguar straight Six in line. Will keep you posted on ho...

Upgrade Advice
Dear All, In the middle of the restoration of my Series 1 2+2 and have found your upgrade list advice very useful. I have decided to make some of the key technical upgrades as you advise (electronic ignition etc.) whilst keeping the original parts so that any one who wants take the car back to compl...

Glass Polishing
Hi everyone.
The Door glass on my series 1 2+2 has some scratches in it. I am keen to get the scrtaches polished out rather than replacing the glass.
Any recommendations on a service or kit to do this?
Thanks

Has any one got any recent feedback on VSE? They have had a pretty good reputation.
CMES is another option.
Or has anyone tried Classic Car Engines? See below.

Engine Rebuild recomendations for series 1 4.2
Dear All, just wanted to check in on Engine rebuild company recommendations? I am looking for a turn key re-build for my series 1 4.2 engine. Just looking for a straight road going rebuild. I am based in North Surrey but am happy to transport a reasonable distance. I was considering VSE as they seem...

Not far from you
Hi Roy, Just to say congrats on the car. I am also in the same dilemma about keeping red or going back to Golden Sand. There are some photos on my restoration thread where you can compare the two colours. My 2+2 is in the paint shop and will be worked on over the winter so I have to make a decision ...

Thanks
Ian, this is exactly the conversation that was going on at the coach builders around the earlier versus later OSG colour. They were saying that at one time (in the 80's??) they struggled to get the correct OSG colour. Will mention Colourtone to them when I am next round. They had an E in a few month...

Ian, thanks for the advice. I take your point about the sand Blasting. I will get the coachworks to strip it with a sander as you advise. The blasting was my idea. I am pretty confident the Coachworks has the experience as they have just finished my neighbors Series 3 which has come out great. I was...

Bare Shell
Yes the floors are red and I assume the rest although the rear trim is still in the car. The car is now at the paint shop and I am planning to go down there later this afternoon to discuss the options. The plan had been to go Bare metal and not shell and sand blasting due to the extra cost. The Bonn...

Thanks for the Commnet and advice
Dear All, come back to my PC tonight and over whelmed by the advice and response. I think I am getting the message and at the moment am tending towards taking my E back to OGS. The fact that there were original OGS cars with Black interior is also good news. I agree that the Red and Light Tan is a b...
