Finally got out on a long run after fitting brand new distributor cap. Went really well. The old cap didn't have a gasket which may not have helped and the old one contacts were corroded. Thanks again for your help.

Well chaps it would seem it was the Distributer cap contacts. Needed cleaning. Cant check on a run yet but fired up and ran smoothely. Thanks for all your help. Lets hope.......

Morning. I need to top up front brake fluid reservoir on our series 3 but unlike the rear, the fluid is blue in colour. Presumably I should match it, any ideas what it is though?

The Vin plate is indeed on the bulkhead just under the front windscreen and I couldnt see a chassis number on the brace between the shockers. Of course I guess it may be missing.
