Brake master slave cylinders stronger springs

I have read somewhere in the forum about fitting stronger return springs inside the brake master cylinders. Do these work and if so where do you buy them. Any help appreciated

Re: Led H4 headlamp conversation kit

Just an update: I took Gfhug’s ( Geoff) advice and rang Gill at Bettercarlighting and was impressed with his knowledge and range of products for the E Type. Their product is a bit more expensive but does not have the issues with fitting a large ballast inside the headlamp bucket which is limited wit...

Re: Led H4 headlamp conversation kit

However SNG have back and stated Quote Good Afternoon, Thank you for your enquiry, please see details below:-- These are suitable for positive and negative earth ca...

Led H4 headlamp conversation kit

I am looking to buy the SNG Barrett LED H4 heading light conversion kit. Part no SBS9202/1 1. Has anybody done this conversion 2. Are they a big improvement 3. They look as if they are a plug in and play part into the existing headlamp. Is this correct or is there more to it. 4. Do they fit a positi...

Re: Fitting a Dynamator to a positive earth car

Hi Danny, I don’t suppose you could do a diagram of that so I can see how it fits in.

Re: Fitting a Dynamator to a positive earth car

Hi johnetype and DWW, I take note of your comments and will put the supply of the volt meter after the ignition key. In terms of direct connection of the Dynameter being connected directly to the battery I have achieved this by making the connection onto the battery supply feeding the solenoid, whic...

Re: Fitting a Dynamator to a positive earth car

Hi Steve, these are my own diagrams. The dotted line represents where to cut into the white wire to the ignition light. However I need to take the drawing down as I notice a small mistake which I need to correct. So I will delete my post and correct it but you may need to take down the drawings in y...

I would like your views on the diagrams and check to see if they make sense or if any changes required Here's the file "E Type dynamator conversion.pdf" for your review. https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:eu:2ec0e41b-a357-4ac7-a936-d375570990c4 Add you...

Re: Fitting a Dynamator to a positive earth car

Thank Steve, just getting some schematics sorted out and a couple of pictures.

Love your car by the way . It looks great and the colour suits it.

Re: Fitting a Dynamator to a positive earth car

Thanks John, I feel a bit more confident now.
I am trying to get together some drawing of the installation for anyone else thinking of doing the conversion.

Re: Fitting a Dynamator to a positive earth car

Hi everyone, I have managed to crack the ignition lamp problem and it all seems to be working well. I note the volt meter is showing a figure of 14 to 15v. I would have thought that 13 volts would be normal for a 12v system.
I do not know how accurate the guage . Is this a problem?,

Re: Fitting a Dynamator to a positive earth car

Thanks for the tips guys, I will give them a go. However my main issues now is with the ignition light either staying even when the car is not switched on. It seem to be getting a back feed from the dynamator. Most people seem to have the same problem but do not post when they solve it. Here I go ag...

Re: Fitting a Dynamator to a positive earth car

Hi Steve, tried that but not change. If you look at the bottom it states add image. That takes you in photoshop , resize the picture but still it does not come over. Below that sign it gives the option of adding an attachment. Go in, download a photo and then I get the file sized to big. Not sure ho...

Re: Fitting a Dynamator to a positive earth car

All the wiring is now complete and everything seems to be working except the ignition light which does not now come on. The volt meter seem to be working fine so quite pleased with the way it has all gone. Managed to hide everything inside to old regulator box after stripping out the guts of it. I h...

Re: Fitting a Dynamator to a positive earth car

Well, received my Holden ( Caurbont) volt Guage with brass bezel and battery symbol.

Managed to tee cut out the battery symbol and used my old series 1 bezel to match the other instruments.
As good as I can get it to match. It will have to do for now.

Re: Fitting a Dynamator to a positive earth car

Yes, I messaged them but have not had a reply. There is a 4 week delay I believe which I could have got around by just doing without an amp/volt meter for the period.

Thanks for the advise and if the battery symbol annoys me I can always get a Caernont Guage.
