Have cleaned out the lower casting and managed to fit the new spigot. When assembled with new ball and socket there is still a problem. Assembling without any shims ball is slack in joint --- about 30 thou. Convinced there must be a problem with bits supplied. Have decided to fit sealed for life XJS...

I am rebuilding the front suspension on a 1967 4.2 FHC, and purchased all the bushes and joints as a "kit" from Barratts. The problem I am having is that the spigots fitting over the ball joint appear to be too big to fit in the Hub Carrier. The diameter of the lower section of the spigot is correct...
