Hi Richard,

I have a few S1 projects, all in different conditions and/or stages of restoration, only FHC's though.

Feel free to give me a call, or send me a message if you'd like to know a little more about them.

Best regards,
Axel

Hi, Whenever I want to remove glue from a surface I'm afrai might get dameged with thinners or spirits (like paintwork, etc) , I use Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover. I think it works even better than thinners for removing glue, although I doubt I would use such an expensive product on the underside o...

I've found it's easier to just send them an e-mail with the jaguar parts numbers, fast replies and great service.

You might want to take a look at the front torsion bar settings, it seems like the front ride height is a little low looking at the wishbones.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with this. There is a big difference between an MGB or GT6 interior compared to an E-type FHC. It's indeed not a matter of "mass-production" but more in the methods used, the time it takes, and how hard it is to recover the seats and the rest of the trim. And making ...

I think Dum Dum can no longer be sold thanks to new EU regulations.
I've bought a cartridge of this stuff but have yet to use it: http://www.waysideadhesives.com/Screen- ... 0_prod.php

Just a thought, but have you considered swapping your S-type and 4.2 head for a rebuilt 3.8 MKX head from VSE?

Christopher, it's is also a 1967 2 1/2 litre! Unfortunately it is an automatic as almost all cars were, it's a real shame Jaguar didn't offer the manual gearbox from the beginning, especially if you know why they didn't. I'm in the process of putting it back on the road after 10 years of sitting in ...

Stolen car GPS tracker

I just stumbled upon this:

http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/produ ... +device.do

If my car would ever get stolen, I think I'd give myself a medal for having bought one of these :o .
You can get a six month battery pack with it too apparently.

Looks like an interesting seminar. Coincidentally, I've been doing exactly this to the Daimler v8 in the past (and next) few weekends. The furniture clinic products are really effective, I've become such a big fan of their rejuvenator oil, I ordered 5 litres this week! The removal of the old dye def...

Wise words indeed David. The 'Game of Consequences' as you mention is the reason I had my other car completely stock when I restored it, even back when everyone was shouting I was mad to do so (back in the days when the Pirelli P4000 was said to be THE tyre of choice, and some fitted volvo calipers ...

Good point about the understeer, certainly wouldn't want more of that, to the contrary. What I wanted to achieve with this is to reduce the "railway carriage look" and retaining the steering feel and travel. I once drove a fast road '62 with 205 Cinturato's (they fitted!) but the front tyres would r...

Tyres, again

I know that the subject of tyres has been discussed many many times before, but I don't think this option hasn't been discussed before. I've always had the standard size fitted to my car (XVS then Cinturato's, loved both), but I like the idea of a little fatter tyre in the rear and keeping the light...

Hi pom22,

I think the right settings in the workshop manual.
I had to adjust the lights for the Belgian CT too, but you have to recheck them with the glass covers on while you do it, as they change the angle.

Tony, I don't think it was me who suggested the number 10  I've uploaded two photo's of the ones that I had fitted to my 65, but quite a large number of them wouldn't tighten anymore after several removals for cleaning. Probably due to the poor mazac threads, although even these stainless scre...

Just out of curiosity.

I read somewhere that the 3.8 had slotted heads and the 4.2 philips heads, is this correct or is there more to it?

Hi Tony, From what I remember, the thread is much finer than UNC, looked more like UNF to me. Try Anglo Parts, they have them listed in their catalogue but it doesn't say long or short (parts 16 and 17): https://www.angloparts.com/en/catalogues/group/2774 Best to give them a call, they've just finis...
