Diff ratio

Hi all I have a1968 S2 FHC which I believe has European specs. The speedo in KPH has SN 6332/05 700 and the Rev. Counter RVI 4612/02 . I note from the knowledge base David Jones had a list of S1 ratio references but I can't find them for S2. I would be interested to know if I can ascertain the diff....

Re: S1.5 at 400000 kms Video

We will swop some of your rain anytime ! We are suffering a serious drought here in Cape Town at the moment and strict water restrictions invoked including no washing of motor vehicles using municipal water.

Re: Series 2 aesthetics

Hi Geoff The chrome side base plate could easily be cut or ground to shape but as it is looks more attractive than the side view of existing S2 taillights. The beauty is there would be no damage or modifications to the car or original lights should you wish to revert back. Maybe one day . At least I...

There have been various posts on Lotus Elan and MGB taillights but it would appear that the Mk2 lights are similar to S1 in profile and could fit...

Re: Stolen!!! E type series 1

I am a lawyer in South Africa but doubt that the law governing ownership of a stolen item can differ in French or Swiss law . Basically ownership remains vested in the original owner ( your colleague ) until there is a valid causa eg.sale to pass ownership. He should be able to retain possession and...

Hi Jeff I really like your MGB rear light conversion . I have a 1968 S2 Fhc in Cape Town S.A. and am tempted to do the same. Is there a big difference between the early and later MGB rear lights and is it important to stick to the earlier model. What period of MGB lights would you recommend ( I thin...

Throttle pedal assembly LHD to RHD

I am converting a S2 from LHD to RHD and want to know whether the existing Lhd throttle pedal assembly can be transferred and adapted/ modified or whether it is essential to buy a Rhd S2 pedal assembly.I realise the lhd is floor mounted and the rhd suspended but besides being not authentic is there ...

steering rack 8 tooth or standard 7 tooth ?

I am planning the lhd to rhd conversion of my S2 FHC. I would appreciate any members comments on whether it is preferable to fit the 8 tooth " fast rack" I often see advertised or to stick with the standard 7 tooth manual rack. The car is to be used for normal town type driving. Many thanks . Paul

LHD to RHD conversion

I live in Cape Town and have recently purchased a late 1968 lhd series 2 e type ( not American specs ) I am thinking of coverting it to RHD and believe Mike Cassidy wrote a detailed and informative article on the subject some time back. If any member has a copy of this article I would be most greatf...
