Re: Another Tale of Fraud

Thx Christopher, all being well the car will be back on the agenda this year, it's pretty much untouched ... which in some ways is nice as I'll have a clean start. I spoke to William over lockdown and he's now restoring cars under his own steam, so 'all's well...'. This is his Instagram page: https:...

Re: Another Tale of Fraud

Hi Christopher,

The video featuring Barbary Hill was an episode from Built By Many. I was introduced to William when he worked there and he kindly agreed to be on film and do an audit of my car. No other connection.

Best, Al

Warren Pearce & Yimkin Engineering

Hi there, Is anyone still connected with the team from Warren Pearce? It's not directly e-type related but in the early 1960s he was based at No.59a Cadogan Lane in Chelsea. Down the road at No.73-79 were two companies owned by a lady called Phylis Herbert. One was a stage tuning shop and FJ Racing ...

Re: Built by Many

Dear all, Many thanks for the support and comments on Built By Many. This morning I've put the project on hold for the foreseeable future. Mainly as the original intention was a breakaway show with Edd China and as an enthusiasts restoration without him ... there's no real call for a dedicated studi...

Re: Built by Many

Thanks Christopher, The sound edit is becoming painful. It was checked on laptop, Mobile and PC but there are issues. Especially if you're on surround sound TV or using speakers. We're working on this again now. Thanks for the feedback on the narrative too. We can dig deeper on contributions from th...

Re: Built by Many

Many thanks for all the feedback. We're just editing Episode 2 now and all being well we should have this with you on Friday PM. After that our next deadline is to be on the SNG Barratt stand at the Classic Motor Show on the 9th, 10th and 11th of November. For the strip down we're planning a time la...

Re: Built by Many

Hi all and many thanks for the feedback. All good! Next month we'll be continuing the restore vs replace theme and Barbary Hill and William Heynes will be helping us to go through the car to see what we can retain from an originality POV. The plan is to record one video per month with supporting vid...

Where is 1E35446?

Hello! Does anyone, perhaps in Italy, know the whereabouts or owner of 1E35446? http://www.xkedata.com/cars/detail/?car=1E35446 My car is 1E35445, also a left hand drive and in the same colours, so I'd like to be in touch if anyone has any leads? The car was last sold to an Andrea Gobbi near Rimini....

Re: First post: Thanks!

Great advice and lot's of contacts who can support already but I'll share as I go along. It's actually worse than it looks. Sharp eyes will note a very large air vent in each footwell. Oh ... I'm in Cambridge but the car is in storage so not accessible at present.

Re: Series 1.5 covered headlamps

Thanks all, Just checking. Technically it should be open headlights so I'll post some photos of the (presumably) period conversion if there's anything interesting to see. The head shown on the BHCC photos didn't come with my car either so I'll share a photo of the actual head and number later. I'm h...

Re: First post: Thanks!

Thanks all, It's safe to assume little to no experience (on a sliding scale!) compared to most of the blogs on the forum but I've been around classic cars (my father had the bug) it's just I don't have enough time at present to really get stuck in. I've bought the Service Manual, Judging Guide and F...

Series 1.5 covered headlamps

Good evening, I've just popped my first post into the welcome section with links to my 1967 Series 1 restoration project and thought to kick things off I'd see what everyone's thoughts were on the covered headlamps. From previous posts it sounds as though these aren't original but what are the tell ...

First post: Thanks!

Good evening, Firstly many thanks to the team for managing and sharing such an incredible resource. Between this forum and Chucks blog at Monocoque Metalworks I feel I can at least visualise the work that's ahead of me. It will be a while until I can start my restoration but there's probably quite a...
