Re: Bonhams Zoute Sale

To be noted, there was a Saleroom notices by Bonhams for that car: "Although the head and engine block bear the correct serial numbers with an accurate font, and the block itself has a casting number indicating an early manufacture, we are unable to categorically confirm the authenticity of the eng...

Bonhams Zoute Sale

Anyone see the OBL sell no reserve for £117k plus premium? What a shocker. I'd be gutted.

Re: Chassis 850062

Probably as straightforward as this:
Unsold at auction
Carl/Tom Hartley in attendance looking for stock, makes an offer which is accepted
Puts on the website with a suitable profit margin
Sells quickly

Couple of other nice E-Types on their website also.

Any ideas which number this OBL Coupe is? Can't see any in red in XKEData.

And wrong end of the year for selling classics with the winter looming....and the looming brexit cock up can't be helping either....better to drive them than sell them maybe.....
Weirdly they have moved the London auction to November for next year! :questionmarks:

London Auction

Wondered if anyone had any insight into the poor sales at the RM Auction in London last week? 104 lots, 3 withdrawn prior and 45 unsold even after the usual haggling after the event when close to reserve. Most of the sold vehicles were no reserve and went for low amounts. Majority of those with a re...

Lovely car Gareth Is that a tan hood? Have you a photo of the interior and the hood up? Robbie Thanks Robbie. It's a Sand Hood and Biscuit interior. Re: Best Colour For Series 1 OTS?

I love mine in Opalescent Dark Green, but if the original was Golden Sand I would stick with it as it is a great colour as well plus nice to have it as it was originally.

Re: E-type illustrations - colour help

Oddly the rarest colour was BRG followed by ODG. Green was not popular despite the racing heritage - something to do with bad luck apparently. In the UK you never painted a front door green! Hmm interesting, shame E-types look bloody lovely in opalescent dark green I think Agree! Here's mine :smile...

3.8 distributor search

Hi,
I need a new distributor for my 3.8 but they seem thin on the ground or require a swap. Anyone know where I could get one? I will stick in the wanted section if realistic.
Thanks

I used Direct Express http://www.shipdei.com/
All went well but could have been lucky! Worth getting a few quotes I guess.

I bought mine from there - no problems. They sell many that need lots of work so just need to ask plenty of questions.

Re: Advice required!

Hmmm, leaning towards body coloured as on XKE Data a slightly later one than mine shows body coloured and the photos - 875514 - show it being handed over as a present from new. So you would think this has to be right?!
