Under dash trim covering wiring.

Series 1 2+2. Hi does anyone have a photo of the trim that covers the wiring on the LHS bulkhead fitted please? Part number BD 29152. The parts book says its fitted with 3 bifurcated rivets but there is no way my cover is going to line up with any holes in the bulkhead ( I can only find 2 ). Does it...

Rossleigh Newcastle 1966

Bit of a long shot but I wondered if any members have a 'photo or newspaper advert for the Newcastle on Tyne Dealer in September ish of 1966. I am trying to put together the history of my car. I know it was sold by Rossleigh in September 1966. I have tried the newspaper archives for that period and ...

Re: accelerator control rod length

Hi Paul
On my 66 2+2 C17867 ( vertical one) is 5,3/4 inches long and C17868 ( horizontal one ) is 10,1/2 inches long. These are overall dimensions not joint to joint.
Hope this helps

Re: No vacuum ?

Hi , yes when the engine is running I have vacuum to both sides of the servo. When the brake pedal is pressed the vacuum is lost from the rear portion of the servo.

Re: No vacuum ?

Hi and thanks for the replies. After 24 years of owning my 2+2 the pages with the brake system on are well thumbed, second only to the section on carburettors. All the pipes are connected correctly and the vacuum to the rear of the servo changes to atmospheric when the brake pedal is pressed. The pu...

No vacuum ?

Series 1 2+2 New master cylinder, new servo. Bled brakes and a good pedal. However. If I press the pedal then start the engine the pedal doesn't go down slightly. With the engine off I cannot hear the servo working off the vac cylinder for 2-3 presses. Master cylinder or servo problem? How do I test...

Re: Aluminium strip at the bottom of the door cards

Hi all. I have the CHROME trim that is about 4 inches above the bottom of the door . I have the clips that hold it on. If you look at the photo I posted you will see that there is an aluminium strip about 1 inch deep that is at the bottom of the door just above the sill. Its this one that I am query...

Re: Aluminium strip at the bottom of the door cards

Thanks for the replies. I have found a photo of the aluminium strip on my car. Its just above sill level. I do remember seeing a car with something similar many years ago. The self tappers that hold it in place go through the door card and onto the door. Seems daft to me as there are clips to hold t...

Crome bead on the cantrail.

Hi how does the chrome bead fit to the cantrail on a series 1 2+2? There is one clip at the bend above the A post but nothing else. Should there be more clips? Also how is the cantrali attached to the body? Mine is by small ( 2mm) self tapers that screw through the outer seal channel. Should the can...

Re: 2 post v Scissor lift

I have a 4 post lift purchased from my cousin when he sold one of his TVRs. Best single purchase ever (except of course for my E type). Doesn't allow unrestricted access to all areas but so far I have not found any major difficulties. If you are buying new you can get one custom made to suit your av...

Circular hole in Bulkhead

Hi, does anyone know what the circular hole next to the heater hole is in the bulkhead of my RHD Series1 2+2 ?
It is covered by a square plate with a pop rivet in each corner. The fifth hole is for one of the heater box mountings and has the captive nut on the inside.
Photo attached.

Brake master cylinder pushrod length

Hi, series 1, 2+2
Does anyone know the correct length of the master cylinder pushrod. I have 3 in my boxes of bits, all of differing lengths.
I think it could be the one in the photograph that is 3,3/8 inches from the centre of the clevis pin hole to the end of the pushrod .
Thanks

Where does this wire go to?

Hi, please see attached photo of the wiring under the glove box on my RHD series 1 2+2. The wire arrowed comes out of the loom somewhere behind the centre of the dash. It is a single core with a plastic sleeve on it. It is the only wire with a sleeve in this area. Total length about 2m. Unfortunatel...

Re: EOG 984 C

Thanks for the info. More detective work to follow. As for GDPR, I assume that the Doomsday Book will now be a restricted document and we will no more be able to learn that Prince Fred of Whitley Bay owned 2 acres, 3 horses and a share in a pig. This has all come about as during Lockdown I decided t...

EOG 984 C

Hi, this registration number has been neatly and deliberately scratched into the paint on the underside of my passenger seat. Its not connected with my car. The previous owner knows nothing of a car with that registration or how the seat ended up in my car. That takes us back to before 1982. I know ...

Re: Dzus callipers longer pedal travel

Hi All ad thanks for the replies. Seems that I asked a similar question in 2017 but forgotten all about it with the car being laid up. The answer then was that there is air in the system. Dzus, Zeus, neither, they are Coopercraft when I have just been to look closely. Thanks for the replies though. ...
